I've been playing the original version of this song, by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush, and trying to figure out how anyone could vid to it. It is a perfect match to SGA, in particular John Sheppard, but the intricacies of the beat (when the damned beat can be picked out) and the vision needed to match the verses, has been very, very slightly daunting.
And then you post this. It is beautiful. The careful choosing of which character to concentrate each successive verse and reply for, the matching of words and emotions - the Teyla section alone is a masterpiece.
I am not at all sure of this version of the song, but perhaps that is simply because I have always loved the original.
Oh I can tell you, it wasn't easy. I was torn between making it into a Shep or Ronon vid, it seemed to fit so well with both, but as I kept listening to it, I realised each verse seemed to fit a different character really well. I'm really happy with how it turned out in the end. :)
I dont think I have heard the original to this song. I wasn't too sure of it at first, the girl kinda annoys me, but i have really grown to liking it now. Anyways, thanks for the feedback, it was lovely to read, and Im glad you liked it. Cheers
I've watched this a few more times, and the Carson bits are definitely overtaking the Teyla bits for me. That cutting from Michael to Carson is masterly. Actually that whole Carson-centric verse is wonderful.
Now, I have the original song on my computer, if you want to listen to it. I think what does it for me in the orgiginal is that the two singers are much more experienced, and so the pain and emotion in their voices sounds much more real. Not to mention, for some reason, Shannon and Natalie don't quite have the timing right. Which must have been a bugger to vid to.
So, if you want to hear the original, let me know. Are you okay with megaupload?
Hmmm, I dont know what is with this program at the moment, it is playing up and going all weird on me. Thanks for letting me know, might be something off with the file. Neways, thanks again
Oh wow another amazing video from you.... The song was perfect, plus what a great version of it... It just matched the mood and flow of the video perfectly... Another keeper...

One note, though, I couldn't open it with Windows Media Player. I had to use VLC. Don't know why.
Great vid otherwise.
