Character Information

General

Canon Source: Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
Canon Format: Anime
Character's Name: Lelouch Lamperouge / Lelouch vi Britannia/ Ledouche
Character's Age: 17

What form will your character's NV take?

Lelouch's NV is essentially an advanced smart-phone. It's capable of all the usual NV communication functions including holographic transmission. All the basic applications of a smart-phone are there, including a web browser and GPS. It can also take photos, and has plenty of storage space for downloads and recorded video content.

His NV's most defining feature is primarily an aesthetic one. The surface is opaque in use and clear when it's not.

Opaque. Clear. Handheld.

Abilities

Character's Canon Abilities:

For basic Geass ability information please see here, everything is listed very nicely. Currently, Lelouch only has one Geass-enabled eye, and he is unable to control it. To avoid accidentally abusing the ability and disguise the afflicted eye he wears a purple coloured contact lens; it must be removed in order to issue a command.

An interesting side effect of The Pull, is that characters who die are often brought back to life. Lelouch's original command would disappear with the character's death, but leave them open to a new command as they were respawned. While this provides Lelouch with some lee-way, to not abuse it (and risk exposing himself) will require a great deal of self-control on Lelouch's part.

Intellectually, Lelouch is a genius (See Personality for detailed explanation). This is countered by the fact he has all the physical prowess of a chicken with clipped wings. For a boy of seventeen years old, Lelouch's strength and stamina are absolutely pathetic. He has difficulty climbing multiple flights of stairs, running a single lap or digging a hole without exhausting himself to the point of illness. In typical Lelouch fashion he skipped most of his physical education, and continues to avoid any remedial classes. This is a bad idea; for if Lelouch sought to challenge his blind, paralyzed little sister to an arm wrestling match there's a good chance she would win. Nonetheless, he's a capable marksman and his hand-eye coordination is above average; thus he is able to pilot his Knightmare passably.

For what it's worth, he is adept at cooking, cleaning and sewing. As long as someone stronger opens the jars, Lelouch is fully capable of catering Student Council parties and managing a household single-handedly.

Weapons: Nothing.

History/Personality/Plans/etc.

Character History: Right over here.

Point in Canon: The beginning of R2, after Lelouch has returned to Ashford and begins lamenting the replacement of one deficient sibling for another.

Character Personality:

Lelouch vi Britannia is a mastermind.

Lelouch is extremely talented at devising systems and tactics for action. He has an excellent ability to take any task and define it, organize it, plan it, and follow it through to successful completion. A supreme strategist, he is always brainstorming to weigh new strategies against current ones and to plan for every conceivable contingency. By translating multiple theories into a single course of action, even the most complicated of plots is made both solid and flexible. As assertive as he is innovative, when an obstacle arises Lelouch observes the situation, decides what should be done, executes the action, and relentlessly moves forward. He is a "take charge" sort of individual, which is well-served by his quickness to grasp the complex, and make quick and decisive judgments. World domination isn't a spectator sport, and Lelouch isn't afraid to get his hands dirty.

Lelouch has a distinct flair for the dramatic. He is both actor and tactician, and it is his ability to improvise that succeeds where strategy fails. Fast-talking as he is fast-acting, Lelouch has turned many a table by words alone. Through brilliant acting Lelouch was able to spin one of his greatest mistakes, the accidental Geass of Euphemia vi Britannia, into one of his greatest successes and the beginning of a true rebellion. Only through improvisation and creativity was Lelouch able to create "Zero," a character that both shocked and mesmerized the world. While the Geass is certainly Lelouch's most powerful weapon, if Lelouch hadn't proved himself capable of playing multiple roles within the same grand plot, the means to operate it would have been lost.

One of Lelouch's greatest strengths is the power of observation, and the uncanny ability to perceive the minds and motivations of others. Picking up on small cues which go completely unnoticed by most people, Lelouch is able to grasp truths and information that are often unspoken and unseen. Using these "tells" to predict the actions and intentions of friend and foe alike, Lelouch is always a few steps ahead. While the Geass is a powerful tool in its own right, a heightened awareness of the bearer's opponent is what makes the difference between a mediocre command, and a devastatingly efficient one. This gives him an edge to get what he wants out of who he wants when the situation arises.

The tremendous power of the Geass is definitely a driving force towards achieving Lelouch's goals, and he sees no problem in using it to his advantage. While he has virtually no respect or loyalty for any governing power or "system," he is utterly dedicated to his own manifesto of righteous justice. Lelouch has such a clear vision of the way that things could be, how they should be, that to not turn the world upside-down in order to achieve success is as good as condemning it. If something must be done to pursue his goal, Lelouch's decision will always take precedence over the rules of society, the world and god himself. He is not afraid to commit evil in order to destroy far greater evil. While operating under the guise of "Zero," it's this unwavering conviction that promotes the support Lelouch requires to fulfill his visions.

Lelouch vi Britannia is also a seventeen-year-old boy. He is not unflawed.

While organized and methodical in his approach, as well as generally successful at any task he undertakes, Lelouch has a tendency to be too rigid, and too detail-oriented. This applies to to all aspects of his life, from world domination to measuring baking ingredients to the decimal. He readily takes on the tasks of others if he doesn't think they can perform to standard, and habitually hurts people's feelings by applying hard logic and reason to situations which demand more emotional sensitivity. To say that Lelouch feels nothing for the people around him is an inaccurate statement; it's simply that he doesn't take the feelings of others into account when making decisions. He often places so much weight on his own personal goals and beliefs that he overlooks the value of other people's. Lelouch's strong sense of duty, while lending him a certain seriousness and motivation, can alienate him from his peers.

That same seriousness applies more positively to his role as a big brother. Lelouch is family-minded in a very traditional sense of the word, and will put forth great amounts of effort to keep his little sister comfortable and happy. He cares deeply about Nunnally, although he has difficulty expressing his love at times. Fortunately, Lelouch's ability to see what needs to be done in almost any situation applies to relationships as well. He will make surprisingly tender gestures towards his sister to lift her spirits when they're low. When Lelouch realizes the needs of those who are close to him, he will put forth the effort to meet them when possible. Deep down he wants his family and friends to be happy, like anyone else does.

He's easy-going where his education is concerned (his sense of duty and responsibility only applies where he deems it important), skipping out on mundane classes to spend time with friends or further his own plans. Lelouch likes interacting with other people. Like most teenage boys Lelouch an offbeat sense of humor and can be a lot of fun when the mood strikes him. Lelouch's good looks and charisma are popular with the girls, and he's well-known throughout the school as a member of the student council. He enjoys challenging mental stimulation (avoiding the physical, whenever possible) from rigorous conversation and gambling to games of chess. He has a certain respect for people who are able to stand up to him, though there aren't many in the position to do this. Lelouch's overpowering self-confidence and excellent verbal communication skills skewer the most experienced of master debaters (hur hur). Even the most strong-willed of his peers, Suzaku Kururugi, has wavered against the likes of Lelouch.

At his very core Lelouch believes the ends justify the means, and is frustrated by the lack of support from both his sister and Suzaku, who believe that process is just as important. This has led Lelouch to cast himself in the role of "misunderstood hero" to preserve both his sense of conviction and self esteem. While such delusions of grandeur help Lelouch to remain strong in the short-term, the isolation removes any means of real emotional support or healthy criticism. Deep down, Lelouch is also his own worst critic and constantly stressed by his own demands for self-perfection. He berates himself for things he could and should have done differently. Under extreme stress, Lelouch can become destructively paranoid. His high-functioning intelligence is a double-edged sword; Lelouch's "gift" of foresight becomes obscured with visions of every possible of failure. The very thought of not accomplishing his goal is terrifying to Lelouch. If he is unsuccessful in the end, all the brutal and controversial things he has done will simply be an selfish waste of human life; and one of the foremost ideals he was fighting against. Buried within Lelouch is no small seed of doubt, but a time-bomb that threatens to explode the moment his determination wavers.

Character Plans:

Lelouch can't carry out his plans from Siren's Port, and since giving up isn't an option; his first and foremost goal is to find a way back to his own world.

For the most part he'll act as himself, but when the time is right Lelouch will take up Zero's mask.

Lelouch is familiar with the grass-roots approach and will begin with information gathering, then recruitment and action. He'll quickly learn the Core is at the centre of the problem and make it his target. From there it's deciding which route to take: SERO, AGI or Neutral. Ideally he would topple both organizations, and crown himself leader of the Newcomers.

The idea of leaving Sirens Port in anarchy doesn't bother him, all that matters is returning home.

Since true fulfillment of his goal isn't possible OOCly, he'll likely succeed to an impressive point before failing spectacularly. He can spend the rest of his stay as a pariah getting beaten up by little girls.

Voice.

From what I've figured out, everyone who's brought here has something special about them. Even people who started out normal become "different" in some way, gifted or cursed depending on your perception.

I was curious. After a little asking around I found a woman whose special ability was to see special abilities in others. She told me I've been granted - or have always had - a precognitive ability. I'll admit, I was pretty impressed with myself.

What she didn't tell me was I'd never see farther than what I'll be having for breakfast;  I had my hopes up thinking I'd never write another surprise pop-quiz.

[ A laugh, his voice genial. ]

So, fellow Newcomers, what makes you special?

Third Person Sample

The fist crashed into his face with the force of a rock. The cartilage of his nose offered little resistance, almost turning in on itself with the force of the impact. The blood and pain were immediate. Lelouch's eyes were blinding with a dazzle of black and red, the former in his head; the second spraying over his clothing and the pavement.

Lelouch didn't have to fumble for his NV; the communication device was already in his hand. Swallowing a mouthful of blood and spit he pressed the button that would enable a connection to the network, sweeping his thumb over the screen to access the voice/camera function.

"S-Someone- help!"

His voice broke of it's own accord, tears streaking down either side of his face; the video shaking in his trembling grip. Lelouch couldn't have asked his body for a better reaction, the realism of this performance was essential. He would gladly suffer in the present to ensure future success. His current goal was a simple one. To draw out any 'knights' from the woodwork. A strong person with good intentions who acted on impulse to help others. If everything went according to plan he would be 'rescued' and a relationship would be formed. He would create a powerful ally that could be coaxed into action with the right motivation.

Nonetheless, it was difficult to ignore his brain as it screamed for him to protect himself. To grab the gun he had commanded the man to drop just a few feet away before attacking him. If all else failed he would use it to (badly) shoot the man, and further cement his reputation as a helpless civilian.

Instead he stumbled backward into the alley wall, dropping his NV to raise his arms in pathetic defence. This did nothing to cushion the impact of his head as it struck hard against brick and sent him to his knees. He glanced over at the device beneath his lashes to make sure the attack was still within frame. His vision was blurry and doubled; there was a high possibility he was concussed.

The clock was ticking. Where was his knight? A man or woman, it didn't matter.

You couldn't win a game of chess with just a king.
