I lied. I really didn’t enjoy the whole visit from the dogs. Their owner called last Wed. and said he was staying longer than planned. I ran out of food that he dropped off with dogs and had to go buy more. It cost almost thirty bucks. On Friday the dogs started getting into everything. They chewed up my sheet music for my dulcimer, my decorative basket in the living room, my blankets on my bed, my furniture, and stained my carpet to high heavens! I was so mad. Their owner called Tuesday to tell me he was on his way back. When he asked how his dogs were, I told him everything in one breath. He said he was sorry and got off the phone. He showed up today, took one look at the front room and I thought he was going to cry. He walked through the rest of the house and couldn’t believe his dogs did all that. He said they have never done that before. He is going to hire someone to clean my carpets. Spot Shot didn’t even lessen the stains. His dogs are also the reason I have tremendous pain in my back.
I covered my friend’s vacation at work this week and worked my schedule too. I clocked out tonight with fifty-eight point eight nine hours. I would have had sixty-one something but my GM didn’t want to see that so he sent me home and made the other KP close. Eighteen hours of over time is a lot.
Our Area Director was at our store on Easter Sunday. She asked me if I would be willing to start my shift assistant training this summer. Of course I said yes. I’m excited. I have spent the past four years learning and working in all categories of the restaurant and now I get to make the next step up. By her asking me if I was ready made me feel pretty good.
