I LIED!
I lied. Saturday wasn’t the longest day ever. I must have spoken too soon. Tuesday and Wednesday turned into one day. I spent all of my time at work from 4 Tuesday after noon to 4 Wednesday after noon, minus my hour and fifteen minutes in class Wednesday morning. I never thought it would be possible for every single opener to call off, but it happened. Tuesday night there were four phone calls all in a row for the manager. They were all openers calling off. He managed to get an opener for every category except the grill line. So he asked me. Thinking I could handle it, I agreed. I would just go home after work, do homework and laundry until I had to go back at open. When I got there they asked if I would come back after class and help get through lunch. I was planning on going home to sleep until my evening class. I agreed. Another two hours wouldn’t hurt right? WRONG. Two hours turned into six. I ended up just going home and to bed instead of to my other two classes. My eyes and body hurt so bad. I feel bad that they didn’t have any help, but I can only do so much on absolutely no sleep. So now I have fallen behind in a couple of classes.
I don’t think I’ll complain about a long day for a while. That was just too much. A three-hour turn around time between closing and opening. Then, for it to turn into a whole day of working. Not fun at all. I’m pooped.
