Surreality

So, so, I went to that protest today. The one outside the Stamp? Man that was weird. For those who don't know, there were some freaks on stage (who knows how they got a permit!) ranting about how homosexuals were going to hell and blah blah blah and twisting the Bible beyond all recognition. I mean, I'm not even Christian and I felt offended by ( Read more... )

Oh NOES, the christian god hates my gay homosexual transgendered lifestyle! Whatever shall I do???

I know! I'll be pagan!

^_^

Okay, so the bible says that god rained burning sulfur down on sodom and gomorrah because of all the bad stuff going on there. But y'know, that's in the old testament. The one that says you can't eat meat from the back half of a cow, and that you have to sacrifice sheep, and that women are in just about every way inferior to men. The old testament also says that people used to live for somewhere upwards of 200 years. Now a lot of this stuff seems rather irrational, yes? That's because the bible is a book filled with scary and interesting stories that try to get you to act certain ways out of a fear of this greater power that will come down from the sky and smite you. Every culture has some kind of grouping of stories like this, whether written or just passed down by word of mouth. That's why it's impossible for me to take it seriously.

But honestly, I'm sick of people telling me I'm gonna go to hell. I didn't ask for their opinions. I don't randomly walk around offering my opinions to others. "Oh, excuse me sir, but I think your shirt is atrocious!" No, I'd get the shit kicked out of me. I mean, I left arkansas to get away from this bullshit. But it seems like there's a fair amount of hateful people in MD too... I guess it'll get better when I go to Japan.

LOL, cause most of Japan is like, "Who's this Jesus person anyways?"
