My weekend

Mar 23, 2011 00:53

Friday night we went and helped a friend celebrate his 40th at the Irish pub downtown. Its odd, but the place has been there over a year, and this was the 1st evening we've been in there - place was packed. I think the owner has a gold mine on his hands.
So, it was the guy who got this hockey team together 40th and his wife invited some of out to celebrate. Had a really nice time. Ran into a bunch of people from the area and some friends of my brother whom I've not seen in quite some time. So all good.
The goalie from our team spent waaay too much time telling Patti how much he loves the way I play defense that Patti had to quip that there must be a bromance going on :p. It was odd to hear the compliments as I just don't feel like I'm on top of my game yet and I really think there are some guys with real skills on this team

Sunday - St Paddy's 10 miler in 1:14:16. Not my best, but the last few miles really started to feel pretty darn good. I think a good competitive type of run may be just what I needed. Plus, there is beer and hotdogs afterwards - and I finish early enough that I have time to drink enough beer on an empty stomach that Patti is the driver home.
Up next, Indian Trails - a tough, hilly (read as mountains) 15k in 2 weeks that is always "fun" in a "my thighs are literally on fire" type of way.

And now...I need take a hint from Max snoring under my feet and Temp curled in a ball next to me - sleep time!
