How effin' brilliant was
Macbeth yesterday? WOW. I adored it. The binmen (Finchy!). The cutting of the pig's head (Till he unseamed him from the nave to th' chops). The reference to Ramsey, the 'Scottish chef'. I laughed out loud at that. I loved the broody atmosphere and the art direction. I loved the setting, the whole restaurant idea is brilliant. I adored James McAvoy as Macbeth. He was SUPERB. How he started off being wrecked by guilt, suffering from insomnia and just losing it to eventually being completely numbed to the core. He got Macbeth down to a tee. Plus, he is a kick ass singer. I wonder whether they edited out some of Ella's scenes as she went from cool and collected to mad quite quickly. But she too was amazing. And oh, such OBA delights. Toby Kebbell as Malcolm is adorable.
Joseph Millson (Billy Banquo), Richard Armitage (Peter Macduff) and Vincent Regan (Duncan, pwetty eyes!) aren't bad either! :O
This has got to be one of my favourite Shax productions ever.
And in other news: found these funny studio shots of
St. Thomas the Divine.
