Obscurity question
As far as I remember, he's not been mentioned since I became a Consort. I've not heard him mentioned anywhere else, but then I'm not entirely sure I'm all that in touch with what is generally referred to as The Real World (and not the MTV version, either).
If people see him, they'll probably recognise him as Lucius Malfoy. Especially if he's got the right haircolour, like here:
So there's every chance that a bunch of Potter-mad people know this actor and love him dearly, which would make him, well, selectively obscure. Besides, it's entirely possible people will only recognise him with the white hair. I've had that with Gary Oldman, showing a friend several pictures of him, having her ask me who he was with every picture. Such a chameleon...
But I digress.
He also was in some other rather large films, like The Patriot (which I just won't watch, no matter how much I love Rene Auberjonois, Heath Ledger, Gregory Smith, and Jason Isaacs) in which he played a very, very nasty Brit, IIRC (I have been unable to avoid seeing bits of it, unfortunately), something for which he certainly has the eyes.
Not that he's all scary. Few people are.
He'll soon be in some flashy new BBC drama,
which might make him less obscure. Then again, there are plenty of OBAs here who've spent a good part of their professional lives in flashy BBC drama, so it might not alter his obscurity-level. Also, when I read the BBC press thingie about it, his name (along with all the other names on the list) didn't ring a bell.
And I don't think I'm alone in that. I suspect most people wouldn't know about whom I were talking were I to casually mention him. In fact, he's so obscure I have trouble remembering his name correctly. I keep thinking he's either Jacob Isaacs or Isaac Jacobs. But then that might just be me thinking he doesn't look like a "Jason" rather than a measure of obscurity. Also, there are some people on a Jason Isaacs Awareness Crusade, which I assume means they think he's not as well known as he should be. But if that is the same as good old-fashioned obscurity, I don't know.
(By now this is nothing more than a gratuitous picspam I want to get out of my system before the masses (you) get the chance to rate him "Not Obscure". Just FYI)
He can be bald,
he can have long hair,
or something in between.
You can even find him wearing a wig.
I can't, however, quite figure out what colour his eyes are supposed to be after this.

So. What's the verdict? Obscure or not?
