Hello all!
My thanks to
whitelilacs07 for linking me hither!
Instead of revising for the deadly exam I must return to Uni for in a matter of days, I've spent my entire day browsing the Saint Tom joy of this beauteous community!
I'm a Brit moving to Canada for a year in 2 weeks... however shall I survive away from all the gorgeous men-folk?!
Anyhow, without further delay... five Cambridge Spies screencaps, mostly Tom.
And because I feel the need to procrastinate even further...
I've had myself a little browse but not spotted anything about the lovely Elliot Cowan!
Whilst I was studying at Oxford Uni last year, I popped down to Londinium to see Don Carlos at the Gielgud...Derek Jacobi, Richard Coyle and ELLIOT COWAN (very obscure lovely brit actor).
-Elliot Cowan as Rodrigo the Marquis of Posa.. ohmylord how tall is that man! CRAZY! The play was rather Homoerotic, it really was. Rodrigo and Carlos were all loved up best buddies, it was an Alexander/Hephaestion sort of relationship I daresay. All "stay with me this hour" and "you have my deepest heart" yup. In short, it was all loved up between them, hand kissing, the holding of each other in times of death and woe.. that sort of thing.
Elliot was so funny though! He just literally ran around the stage frantically. He never walked! Ever! He just ran everywhere like some sort of Hyper Puppy and.. had a habit of talking at a fantasically speedy pace. Plus, 80% of his lines were nearly shouted.
That was how it should be though.. he played an excitable freedom-loving liberal young man. He was marvellous!
Every time Carlos rambled on about how much he loved Step-Mommy Queen Elizabeth, and every time anyone even mentioned said love, he just ROLLED HIS EYES and looked all exasperated. teehee.
Plus.. he was utterly gorgeous.
Then.. rather unfortunately he died for his love of Carlos, all to save him. So so horribly sad. He lay there dead for the next 15 minutes (breathing shallowly of course, as one does).
The Cardinal Grand Inquisitor said this about the Marquis and his love of freedom and humanity after his death (to King Philip of Spain). For he was a hero! And far more attractive than the rest of the cast. Yes yes:
"Did the World look different, reflected in those eyes?!"
