Well, Ok, maybe not dressing like you (and I) do now would win the race for them if they were running in said style; but what if it was their history? What if they looked like you and I when they were our age, and mellowed out (but not too much!) -- would that work? I mean, for all the black and punk rockerish style I have going for me, I still clean up for work (as a teacher) but I never lose my flair.
I agree with you, but the difference is, you can take your piercings and clothes (and even tattoos nowadays) off if you really wanted to, in order to win.
Can you please just let us Negros have our moment, just this once, without us having to hear you compare it to oppression based on decisions that you consciously made? Please? Or am I asking too much of you?
