Can I get a witness?

well, let's see...

today i had a doubleheader out past the zoo somewhere. While I was doing that, my family went to the All Star Fan Fest down at Cobo. They met Brooks Robinson and unfortunately I wasn't able to, but they did get him to sign a baseball for me, which is pretty cool. When I got home from my DH, i decided to go down there and my god, they have everything you can imagine. I gotta go back tomorrow because the one and only, "Rapid Robert" Bob Feller will be signing autographs. Awesome. The man is undoubtedly one of the greatest pitchers of all time and, of course, an Indians legend. One could make the case that he is the greatest right handed pitcher in baseball history. But that's for another day (and I think i'd give Clemens or Bob Gibson the slight edge regardless)

My dad ended up buying a Lou Boudreau signed ball for $75. Not a bad deal considering he was the man who played and managed the Tribe to the world series victory in 1948. Not only was he MVP that year but he was elected to the baseball Hall of Fame too. A true legend.

Then, going against our typical anti-Yankees traditions, we found a really cool picture of Gehrig and Ruth for only $25. In comparison to the Nolan Ryan having Robin Ventura (in his rookie season) in a head lock being over $100, I think this was a steal. Any baseball fan knows the history between those two and it's a pretty cool photograph.

Tomorrow, I'm going to a grad party, the futures game (pumped!) and legends-celebrity softball game. Should be fun stuff.

later,

Ben
