"The wheels on the bus make everything go 'round and 'round," or at least that's what I was telling folks when I was handing the drinks out. (Each team at the school had a theme for their drinks and skits based on one of the children's songs that get sung every day at the school.)
I managed to squeeze out forty shots from the batch of liqueur I made and I have a bit left over.
Reviews are mostly positive. I mean, if you don't like black tea or lemon, then you won't like this shot, and I guess some people didn't take this into account. I guess some people thought it was more like a Long Island Iced Tea.
Anyway, the visual effect was supposed to be black and yellow for the colors of a school bus. The tea liqueur didn't exactly come out black and I didn't have any black food coloring (and mixing food coloring to get black is a pain in the butt). I even made the simple syrup with tea instead of just water, so it came out darker. Eh, close enough for government work, right?
Iced Tea Shot: black tea liqueur with a lemon liqueur floater, homemade, of course.

Here's a close up of the shot. The layering worked perfectly.
