General Fic Summary: Family relationships in FFVII are always strained. If your dad doesn't want to turn you into a living weapon, your mom is an alien, or she died in tragic circumstances for which you blame yourself, or you left both parents in your home village and haven't spoken to them in years, or you hate your sister until you don't have her anymore, or your brother was grown in a petri dish, or your cousins are technically monsters who like eating human flesh, or ... well, it's hard to find a positive relationship. Hard, but not impossible - even if you have to make a family for yourself in order to achieve it.
Pairings: Eventual Zack/Aerith, Cloud/Tifa and a little Cissnei/Zack.
Chapter: Kunsel: Casualty
A/N: Book 1 of 3. This will eventually be part of three long-ass fics covering pre-canon, during-canon and post-canon timelines. Basically, this is my BUT HOW DID THAT EVEN WOOOOORK? fic that attempts to make some of the more sprawling aspects of the FFVII universe make sense (e.g. Where the hell did Cissnei go? Cloud's Dad - MIA? How did Zack and Angeal meet? AWOL Turks, where are youuuuu? and Kunsel. Just ... Kunsel as a whole). All I can say at this juncture is: give it a chance to make sense and it will.
