Rec!view: Okay, so I’m hideously biased about this ficlet because it was written as a follow-on from one of my own. Even so, I’m writing this review about Merry Kissmas’s own merits. This is a story about one moment, but it’s also a fic about all about the moments that make two people, and especially the moments that make them work so well together. A fantastic glimpse into normal life at Titans East Tower and beautifully touching without being soppy, because there’s no way in heaven, earth, hell, or any other plane of existence that Speedy or Bumblebee would ever be soppy.
Excerpt:
Speedy kept his eyes on his target as he moved cautiously through the kitchen. All he needed now was the theme music from Mission: Impossible.
His hand closed around the handle of the coffee pot and he grinned to himself in triumph; no dregs for him this morning.
Merry Christmas to me.
Unfortunately, his victory was short-lived.
