Scribfic Fanart Contest

I have decided to run my very own fanart contest. The rules are very simple: all you need to do to enter is create a piece of fanart based on one of my fanfics. This could be a scene from a fic, a mini comic, a ‘front cover’ summing up what the fic is about in general, or something else. Traditional art materials, digital art, sketches, oekaki, some photomanips if they’re not just a screencap with a bit of text slapped on - all are welcome. If you have an idea and you’re not sure if it would count, email me and we’ll get any uncertainties cleared up.

Other Important Rules and Things You Should Know!

1. Obviously, copying someone else’s artwork or putting your name to someone else’s work and trying to pass it off as your own is a definite no-no. Trying this will earn you disqualification, a slap on the wrist and eternity as fodder for the septic-toothed Rats of Nyeh.

1. Entries should be either emailed to me or put up in a portfolio such as DevArt, Photobucket, ImageShack, some other free image site or your own webpage so I can link to them.

1. Closing date is April 1st 2008. All entries should be in by that date so I can organise them and so voting can begin.

1. As many entries per entrant as you like, though all art should be a result of your own efforts and be based on my fanfiction. There’s no age limit on the fics, either - the one I wrote yesterday or one from seven years ago, the choice is up to you.

1. I’ll go out on a limb and say fanvids are also counted as entries as long as they are based on my fanfiction - but this must be a proper connection and not just some random couple tribute vid for a pairing who appear on the fringes of one of my fics.

1. Please don’t enter years-old art. New creations only.

Prizes!

ü      1st Prize - A fanfic of your choice written by me to your specifications (though keep in mind I do NOT write incest fic or squicky stuff like water-sports, bestiality or scat). That said, my boundaries are pretty broad and forever expanding, so if you want to know in advance whether I’d write your OT5-hermaphrodite-cosplay-smutfic, your ultra-super-fluffy-rot-your-teeth-with-sweetness het couple or your plain ol’ genfic of choice get in touch with me beforehand and I’ll tell you whether I’d do it. You’d also get something nifty in the post (mail to Americans) for your trouble, though I’d figure out closer to the time what that might be based on who won. I like to personalise my prizes.

ü      2nd Prize - A fanfiction flashfic or vignette of your choice.

All entrants will also get a dapper little certificate to commemorate their participation, which can be emailed or snail-mailed to them when the contest is over, based on their preference.

Can anyone think of anything I’ve failed to mention? If so, tell me and I’ll update these rules. Otherwise … drivers, start your engines! I’ll see you on April 1st.
