First entry for April. :) Hey, everyone!

One of my favorite things about the month is the current challenge (Scenes and Sequences) over on picspammy. It has been insane. I just took a peek at the community's calendar, and there's an average of 60+ entries per day. There were 94 entries on April 5, 83 on April 8. CRAZINESS. And there have been so many picspams of my favorite TV shows and movies in there, I've been a commenting like a crazy person - 20-30 entries a day.

I don't think I'll be able to keep up once summer classes start. I may have to put the community in its own filter so it won't litter my friends list so much. We'll see. For now though, AWESOME. Some of my absolute favorites:

ER 1x14: Crash Cart Roundup
The X-Files 6x19: Baseball scene
Derek/Meredith elevator scenes
Pride & Prejudice (2005) rain scene
Firefly 1x08: Out of Gas flashbacks
Best Booth/Brennan closing scenes
Epic Han/Leia picspam

I'm watching American Idol regularly now, and I've waxed poetic about Kris Allen's awesomeness on my LJ (even have him dancing on my profile page). I'm so happy that he's getting some attention now. I love him to pieces, and I was so so so afraid that he was going to get booted off this week after a subpar performance. Thank God the fangirls came through, and he gets another chance (hopefully many more chances) to prove himself. Kris, Allison and Adam are my ideal Top 3, and though I know it's unlikely, I'm still hoping against all reason, praying to the reality show gods.

Speaking of my Top 3, let's talk about the other guy. ADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM. ♥ You guys. I love him so much. I've known him since his Wicked tour days in '05, obsessed over him a little bit when he was in Wicked LA, and have been rooting for him on AI ever since I heard he was auditioning. I was so happy when I heard that he made it to the Top 12. And now that I'm watching regularly, he is the one reason why I tune in every week. His performances just blow me away every time, and I am in love. It's a different love than what I feel for Kris, different from what I feel about Cook and Archie, but it's there and it's intense.

Haters to the left, okay. I cannot care less about what he does with his personal life, I don't care about the pictures and the flashiness, I'm not scandalized at all by his colorful personality. I LOVE HIM, and like I said on fudgeriver's journal: I can understand (but can never accept) all the disapproval he gets, but I cannot respect anyone who doesn't think his voice is absolutely phenomenal.

I'm posting this video just so I'll have him on my LJ forever. You can't tell me that he isn't incredible if you've listened to this:

Way to make me cry, Adam. I love you forever. ♥

I just finished my semi-annual Firefly marathon a couple of days ago. It was so much fun. I hold that show so close to my heart, I love literally everything about it. ♥ It's a travesty that it got canceled so quickly. I can't wait to have another marathon later in the year. :) I just started a picspam of the whole series, I'll probably get that done by Sunday night. This show, if nothing else, is just SO PRETTY. I'm having a really hard time choosing which caps to use. GAH.

After Firefly, I jumped right into the continuation of my introduction to The West Wing, and of course it's been nothing short of amazing. Going from Joss Whedon to Aaron Sorkin (not to mention going from Nathan Fillion ♥, Adam Baldwin, Sean Maher, Summer Glau to Allison Janney, Bradley Whitford, John Spencer, Martin Sheen) has been marvelous. Such awesome, unparalleled television - I don't really know where to go from here. Mael's ER DVDs are calling to me though, I may have to borrow them over the summer. Fun times.

Another thing I love about April is Seth Rudetsky's Daily Deconstructions. :D Yes, that Seth with the Chatterboxes, Broadway 101, Sirius Radio, and this Playbill column. Awesome musical director, all-around hilarious guy. Seth just has to be one of my most favorite things about Broadway, he's such a huge fanboy, and obsessed with many of the things that I am, and his deconstructions are my favorite YouTube videos ever. Try: Julia Murney in The Wild Party, Andrea Burns in In the Heights, Shoshana Bean, Norm Lewis, Gavin Creel, Patti LuPone, even Michael Jackson!

He's freaking hilarious and I beg you to check out at least one of those. If you're not a Broadway or music fan, at least watch this: Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick do "Johnny!". AWESOME.

One last thing I love about April: BASEBALL'S BACK!!! :D I'm watching my first baseball game of the season (thank God for ESPN!), and oh it's so nice to see my boys again. The team's different, my favorite player isn't here, the stadium's changed too... but that's the game, this is how it goes. I'm determined to enjoy their season no matter what. :)

Go Yankees!

"Thermodynamic miracles... events with odds against so astronomical they're effectively impossible, like oxygen spontaneously becoming gold. I long to observe such a thing. And yet, in human coupling, a thousand million sperm vie for a single egg. Multiply those odds by countless generations, against the odds of your ancestors being alive; meeting; siring this precise son; that exact daughter, until your mother loves a man she has every reason to hate, and of that union, of the thousand million children competing for for fertilization, it was you, only you, that emerged. To distill so specific a form from that chaos of improbability, like turning air into gold, that is the crowning unlikelihood. The thermodynamic miracle."

"But... if me, my birth, if that's a thermodynamic miracle... I mean, you could say that about anybody in the world!"

"Yes, anybody in the world. But the world is so full of people, so crowded with these miracles that they become commonplace and we forget. I forget. We gaze continually at the world and it grows dull in our perceptions. Yet seen from another's vantage point, as if new, it may still take the breath away."
