dancing through life, mindless and careless
make sure you're where less trouble is rife
woes are fleeting, blows are glancing
when you're dancing through life

after my pretty depressing post about Rent, i felt like i should put more positive energy in this LJ, so here:
Things That Have Made Me Happy

5th Anniversaries

I share Pauline's sentiments - may we have more than our high school memories to live by as we go on our separate lives. May we always know that in the event that anyone of us loses herself, there are sisters to go back to. - Hopia ♥

My dearest sisters, five years and counting. You all mean too much for me to be able to put into words. Thank you for always being there for me, for knowing me completely, for loving me. Thank you for accepting me no matter what. Thank you for the many beautiful memories we've made, and here's to a billion more moments spent together. :) Ana, Desa, Raisa, Hopia, Kaye, Lissa, Pauline: I love you, truly. Always.

27 Dresses

I don't care how cheesy or how predictable this movie will be. I don't care that he won't be singing and dancing. I just want a 30-ft James Marsden in front of me, playing the romantic lead. I am praying so hard that he'll get the girl this time. Gaaaah. Ang pogi nya okay. :D

Wicked!!!

What can I say? Michi and HK have been bugging me about this for months, and on Monday (when I should have been studying for my Bio exams) I finally caved and watched the clearest boot I had. Unsurprisingly, I fell in love with the whole thing and went on to watch 4 other boots almost right after each other. The show is just innately amazing in that it almost doesn't matter which actors and actresses are portraying the roles.

I mean, of course there is and will always be something incredibly special with the OBC (hello Kristin/Idina chemistry plus Norbert and Joel Grey and Michelle Federer and Chris Fitzgerald), but the others do so spectacularly too: EDEN FREAKING ESPINOSA, my goodness. Her Defying Gravity made me cry. The talent is staggering. Plus Megan Hilty (her last Broadway Popular will always be my favorite, no matter what HK says), Julia effing Murney, Sebastian Arcelus (speaking of Julia and Sebastian: this video is one of the cutest things ever), Kendra Kassebaum, Derrick Williams. GUH. All of it -- the story, the actors, the music -- is just seriously amazing. O_O After Rent, ayoko nang paasahin sarili ko na mapapanood ko pa 'to sa Broadway or anything. I'm just glad that I'm able to experience a small fraction of its magic through my growing collection of boots, my copy of the OBCR, and the book. :)

Norbert Leo Butz!

One of the best parts of my Wicked fangirling. Gah. Norbert is my absolute faaaaaavorite Fiyero. His last Broaday Dancing Through Life I just love, and can't stop listening to. After I did some reading on him, he is now one of my most favorite Broadway people EVER. He's so ridiculously funny, and he's so insanely talented, I can't even take it. He can do drama, scoundrel and action hero ("Let the green girl go!") and he's just so good at all of it. His talent just floors me.

MULDER AND SCULLY!!!

(SOURCE)
Words will never be able to express how INCREDIBLY HAPPY these pictures made me. I was squeeing for around 20 straight minutes, and until now, when I look at it, I can't help but smile. X-Files 2 coming in July!!!!!!!!! \:D/ I want me some Mulder/Scully. Can anyone tell me where I can find DVDs of the show? :|

Yearbooks and birthday dinners

Finally finally finally finally our dealings with Repro are done! Finally we have given out the yearbooks. :) We sincerely apologize for the many mistakes that remain (both big and small), and hope you remember that each of those pages were lovingly, meticulously, brain-breakingly made, hehe. Yehey council and yearbook comm! \:D/ Sobrang laking sigh of relief na tapos na lahat. :) Also, many, many, many thanks to Sir Vlad for dinner nung Saturday night. Advanced happy birthday! :D

"The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them -- words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out... And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important you almost cried while you were saying it. That's the worst -- the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller but for want of an understanding ear."

-- Stephen King, The Body

despite two incredibly draining Bio exams, despite 5 straight nights of less than 4 hours of sleep, despite so many hours of pure stress -- it's been a pretty good week. :) there was a very special driver to Pisay (haha), much high school loving, a dinner treat, and a much-needed and thoroughly enjoyable 84 overnight. if that's what i get at the end of every stressful week, i'll never complain again. :P

i can't wait for this week to start, because it's going to be five days of almost zero academic load for me. nothing but musicals and books and movies, spending time with bitches and friends, the calm before another storm. bring it on. :)
