Summary: Daiki hates being toyed with in his search to find Tsukasa again
He felt like nothing more than a puppet. A toy... An emotionless thing that had no feeling
A doll with strings.
It didn't matter that he was human.
Daiki was alone in is search to try to find Tsukasa. The only thing he held onto to remind him of the one he loved was a single ring that he wore around his neck. They hadn't been engaged by any means, but it was more of a promise to each other. That the other would be there.
Now the Diend Rider was running through the worlds, trying to find the one world wall that would take him to Double's world. It felt as though he were being pulled every which way just to get a glimpse of that world. He wanted to be there so that he could finally see him, touch him, know that he was going to get help in finding his lost lover.
He'd heard of the rider's profession and situation. It was a two-man based rider who's cooperation was key for everything to work right. They were also a very good two-man detective. They were able to do six different forms just by changing a little USB drive thing that they called... Gaia Memory. He'd seen the strange two-sided rider, fought at his side, fought against his world's kaijin. But he'd never been able to get into the wall before it was too late. The wall always disappeared too quickly.
He was starting to lose hope.
He was in Kuuga's world, gazing out over the waters of the river. His eyes burned with unspilled tears and sleepless nights. He closed his eyes as thought back. The emotions he felt were being pulled all over the place, making him feel like he was being yanked around. He didn't like the feeling. It hurt him as he kept finding clues but never finding the answer.
"Where are you?" Daiki whispered to himself. A string in his heart tugged slightly, making him want to cry but not allowing him to.
"It's not as easy as they make it seem, is it little Diend?" a voice came from behind.
Daiki shivered as he heard the voice. There were three voices that caused him to shiver like that and he didn't like this one.
"Playing you like they would a puppet. It's really quite funny."
The chuckle was dark as Daiki turned. Before him was the one known as Onedera Yuusuke, only it wasn't truly him. No, this was the changed form that Kivara force out. He was never usually like this; his true self was lost beneath the evil that he had been infused with. Daiki had known from the start that the small silver bat was not to be trusted.
"You were nothing but a fool to trust the riders to find a way to bring him back, and it will be your undoing."
Yuusuke then came forward at his former comrade. He started to throw punches and kicks at the young man. Daiki, tired and feeling weak, didn't fight back. He allowed himself to be tossed this way and that like nothing more than a puppet on strings. He was tangled in the lines of despair and couldn't get free. Not even to save himself. The strings had even started to wrap around his neck.
"Fight back! Damn it fight back you idiot!" the dark Kuuga rider hissed. He threw a punch that split the Diend rider's lower lip as well as caused blood to slowly flow from his nose. He kicked him to the ground and let his head fall into the river, straddling the young man. He continued to punch his face and stomach, trying to get a reaction from rider.
"I think that's enough, Yuusuke Onedera."
Daiki looked up through blurred vision. Was it really? Could it really be?
"Yuusuke Onedera, let me count your crimes."
The young gun-based rider felt the weight from over his hips vanish as Yuusuke got up and ran from the new arrival. He just lay there, in half in the water, not close to drowning, but certainly getting plenty drenched by the water beneath him. The dark-haired man just lay there, weak and tired.
"Daiki Kaitoh, alias Diend?" the voice spoke again.
The man in question nodded.
"My name is Shoutarou Hidari. My partner Philip informed me about you from what he learned in from the Gaia Library."
"A-ah..." Daiki's voice was harsh as he coughed, blood flecking from his lips.
He felt himself lifted up. Not by the strings that held him so tightly to his unknown puppet master. No, this was actually someone helping him. It was like the strings of despair were slowly being being cut from around his throat and and heart. He felt limp and weak, raw. The rider was also in pain.
Shoutarou carefully lifted the young man. He could see the pain in the Diend rider's eyes. He had known this pain only months before. He'd felt this pain when he had lost boss to Taboo. He also could feel the weight that his comrade did not have. The hard-boiled detective was amazed that this was the one that he and Philip had fought beside.
"Come, let's take you back to my world," Shoutarou spoke as a world wall appeared. As the two walked through the wall, the first tear that Daiki had shed since he started his journey to find Tsukasa rolled down his cheek.
There was hope for this puppet to be cut free of his strings.
