Around Beltane, I noticed I was making more green and light oolong tea than black tea, again. Yet another sign of summer, it seems.

As I'm just finishing off the last of my house oolong, I went to order more, and noticed that this year‘s first flush Darjeeling teas are now available, so I ordered a new one to try, as well as more of my normal

Today was a pretty nice day. I guess Mother Nature's PR department figured that for a day dedicated to getting people to think kindly of nature, it would be nice if nature's weather treated them nicely. After 10 hours of sleep, I'm feeling better, so far, this morning. I remembered to start with tea, it's sunny, and my fever is gone, so those all help.

Well, that's done for at least three years. It was a bit more 'hurry up and wait' than I would have liked. About half the jurors that had reported got sent up for one trial in mid-morning, but I wasn't in that lot. They sent us to lunch at noon, telling us to be back by 12:50. Work on the filing cabinet continues. I just pulled out a print out (sprocket hole edged dot matrix, of course) of my financial transactions from 1989. All of them. I was using a program whose name I no longer recall on the Amiga 2500 that was my main computer back then. It was similar in concept to Quicken, and I tracked all my expenses, ( Read more... )

I'm cleaning out an old file cabinet at home, and feeding lots of stuff to the shredder. The current archaeological layer is bank statements from 1993. The thing that strikes me the most about these is the number of cancelled cheques with each statement. It seems I wrote paper cheques for everything back then! There's a plumber's truck in the driveway, and I'm hearing banging on pipes in the basement. I have hopes of hot water by this evening.

There really is a dining room table under all the sewing stuff. I should make a point to eat from it more often.
