More "Five Questions"

Interesting. Three money/money is no object questions.

  1. What are the three websites you like and visit often aside from LJ, google, yahoo, e-bay, amazon, aol, wikipedia, imdb and craigslist?
Let's see, that would have to be OKCupid, Tribe.net, and kdfc.com.

  2. If you had unlimited funds to spend on a hobby of your choice, what hobby would you choose for yourself?
    Hmmm..
    • I'd be tempted to get the new Nikon digital camera I saw at Costco recently. My second camera was a Nikon F2 that my parents bought me when I was in high School.
    • One thing that has stopped my lost wax interest is the financial investment necessary. Perhaps that.
    • Stained Glass is also something else I'd like to do once I have the time, space, and money.
Those are the three that require more money. I don't know if I wouldn't be attracted to my other hobby dreams:
    • Bonsai -- this of course requires space as well, so mere money (other than the money to buy/rent a house with sufficient yard) would not be enough.
    • Wood Carving -- I have most of the tools I'd need for my dremel work. I'd have to get another set of hand tools, though....
I'm really not sure which I'd choose if I could only have one. I think I'd probably go with Photography since having a decent or more-than-decent camera is in the way of that one. The others require space work as well. Second choice would probably be the wood carving since it would require less space and it has a definite meditative aspect.

  3. If you had $10,000 with the stipulation that it had to be spent on something frivolous for yourself and a few chosen friends or family (in other words, no paying off bills or credit, no life necessities or health issues, no giving it away to any worthy causes), what would you do with it?
I don't think I'd finance a Burning Man camp. I'm still not sure how I'd do in that environment. Perhaps something similar in a more hospitable environment. How about renting the conference center at Harbin Hot Springs for as long as the $10,000 can last. Of course, some of it would have to be set aside for food, clothing and other things.
Alternate choice would probably to buy a sybian and any other toys. Of course, Conference Center + Nifty Sex Toys = More fun and frivolity.

  4. Who are three of your favorite fictional characters and why?
This one is not easy. There are so many candidates. I'm not completely happy with these, but the list is a first approximation. I reserve the right to append with a new comment. ;-)
Some of my other choices were Paul or Leto II Atreides, but their journeys didn't speak to me as much as some. I've known others, like Willis Davidge, a number of characters from Sime~Gen, Chris from What Dreams May Come, Neo, and so many other characters who have walked journeys of discovery (do you detect a theme here?). This will do for now. :-)

  5. If you could remodel your apartment and money was no object, what are the two biggest things you would do?
I'd really rather turn it into a house. :-) If that's not possible, I guess I'd have a custom bed built that would work better than the solution we have currently. The other would be to set up a networked entertainment system so that our computers could talk a HD video and Home Theater sound. Tied for second would be outfitting a modern kitchen.
