So. We had the enforced Earth Hour(s) the other week; then our water was off for a morning as an enforced drought-familiarity; then I joked that next we'd have the fuel crisis brought home. Sigh. My battery died on Monday, and have finally managed to get a new one, so have been without a car since then. So yes, had a "fuel crisis" week. Had to wait until payday so that my credit card wouldn't go over my limit (and THAT's a whole 'nother topic! Suffice to say I'm on the search for a new financial provider), and batteries are a whole slew more expensive than last time I bought one.
That damn battery though. I had to wait until the pay came through, which was after school. The three of us took a bus into Frankston, which was fine. The way home was different though. My simple decision to not put the battery into a carry-bag meant I was not allowed on the bus with it. She would never have known if she couldn't see it. So we took a taxi home. $11.40 later for a five or ten minute drive. :( Then the old battery had no handle, so it was bitchy hard to get it out with nowhere to grip. It sits in a well, so I couldn't just grasp the bottom of it like I normally would. I must never have changed this battery before, which makes it 3 or 4 years old, which probably explains its death. I got the better of the verschtunken thing though. I took off one of the water caps and used pliers as leverage. HA you little *^*^*%%%$$ of a thing!!!!!!!!!!!! I WON!!!!!
