How to take care of myself today on the 4th of July

This Holiday is such a food fest. (Aren't they all really though?) My husband is out of town until tomorrow night and the neighbors have invited me to their annual pot luck/BBQ. I am so grateful that we live right next to each other so I can eat my abstinent food, and sit on my front porch to watch the fireworks and still be a part of the party and festivities. That is a miracle today.

I went and opened the 7am OA meeting I attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I also led the meeting which was abundant- there were about 9 or so of us there. Then another OA member and I went to a huge park near where we live and went for an hour long walk. Enjoying the weather, talking program, admiring all of the people and their dogs out moving their bodies. What a great way to start the day. We ran into another member and she joined us for part of the walk as well. Then I went to the store and got the food I need for my meals today and here I am.

I am still sick, and yesterday I went and rented a few movies from Blockbuster. So I will finish that up as well. Later I may get online and figure out the literature I need to purchase for my Thursday night meeting of which I am the literature person.

79 Days of abstinence. What a gift.
