What kind of concerts do you get in the area? I'm a fan of the pop rock genre, but since it doesn't seem to be a big city
If a band or artist can fill an arena/large venue, they'll go to Boston (my hometown) or Hartford. There are tons of lesser known but kickass artists that come here though! Among other arists, I've seen Mirah, and Iron & Wine here and I'm seeing Girlyman. Boys Like Girls came to Smith in October and Vampire Weekend's coming next month. The Iron Horse owns several small venues closer to Smith. Check their website here for more info with schedules, etc. However, you will not have hours and hours to go concerts, trust me. So which artists come to Noho shouldn't be a deciding factor imho anyway.

Tell me about convocation, haha.
From my POV, it was an excuse to get pierced downtown, get trashed, and wear provocative clothing. It's a ceremony the day before fall semester classes start with speakers and things. Every house has a theme (don't have to follow it though) and many dress crazy/over the top/sometimes in little to no clothing. But if you want to come completely sober and completely clothed, that's fine, too, no pressure. You'll be told what yer house theme is before and have plenty of time to plan yer outfit.

I'm sorry to bother you so late, btw, I figured you'd already be sleep and just wouldn't see it until tomorrow.

none of the questions I really asked you were deciding factors, if anything, I'd go to smith simply for the study abroad program. It's more of just to gauge what parts of my life would change and what wouldn't, I'd say I'm pretty set on Smith anyway, regardless of what you'd have answered, but I'm sure it'll be affirmed when I visit next month!

good night!

It's not a problem, it's my own fault for procrastinating btw + I love answering questions. Smith study aboard has tons of opportunities, I would def suggest looking into it more but you don't have to decide on leaving before you get there! If you are going to Open Campus and want to stay in touch, I can offer to show you around downtown Noho or provide you with anything you want to get out of the visit that I can which tours and panels can't provide.
