Random brain vomit (in text form)
*NOTE* written about 1:30 last night...
So... I'm home again... in the 6hrs I've shared with my mum so far I have been berated about:
a)my hair
b)my trousers
c)my boots
d)watching Buffy instead of working THE MINUTE I got in the house...
It's good to be home... 8-) (rolly-eyes)
Watched the football highlights. Some good games. Plus a win for Aresenal, excellent. I loved Emre's goal for Newcastle, superb shot. Also Brad Friedl keeps proving he is the best keeper in the Premiership atm. Where as David James... oh dear...
And so... Buffy. Yeh now about 1/3 way through series 2. About the place where I started watching it on TV. I was just noticing how dark the first 2 series are (compared with the later ones). Not only is it darker, but there is just a lot more emotion and i guess intimacy, compares with the more story-telling, adventuring of the later series. Buffy and Angel are just so good together.. I never thought so before, but the tension and the chemistry built up between them is so deep. And this makes Angel's turning all the more poingant and heart-breaking, not just for Buffy but for the viewers too.
The last scene of 'Surprise' (part 1 of the episode where Angel turns) is quite possibly the most moving scene in the whole 7 series (which is saying something)...
Angel: "I..."
Buffy: "You what?
(Buffy turns to him)
Angel: "I love you. I try not to but I can't stop..."
Buffy: "Me... me too... I can't either."
If I could get a clip of it, I would. It's just THAT good.
Yeh I guess these 2 series are very emo as well, which could be why I like them.
Speaking of emo, had an interesting convo with Jenni earlier. And given the way things are going so far, I'd say some emoness is on the cards. So stay tuned for that fun, kids...
One last thing, as promisded yesterday a very interesting scene from 'What's My Line Pt.2'.. of no particular relevance, just like this bit...
Xander: What happened. There is a total explanation for it...
Cordelia: You're a pervert?
Xander: Me? I seem to recall that I was the jumpee, my friend...
Cordelia: As if! You've probably been planning this for months...
Xander: (incredulous)Right. I hired a Latvian Bug Man to kill Buffy so I could kiss you. I hate to burst your bubble, but you don't inspire me to spring for dinner at Bucky's Fondue Hut.
Cordelia: Fine, whatever. The point is don't ever try it again...
