Choco...

Went for Pizza Buffet yesterday, amoung the more normal pepperoni, ham and sweetcorn, 4 cheeses etc.. were some odd ones. Kimchi pizza was tasty, scrambled egg and bacon was a nice idea. Melon & chocolate was given a wide berth and despite really liking banana's I would not try the choco banana pizza either. I stayed away from the plum pasta too but that could have been nice.... possibly.

The best part of this deal, if you like crazy pizzas, was that it was a viking lunch. That means buffett to you and I. For 787y (£3.50) you can eat all you like from about 8 types of pizza, 2 types of pasta and the ever presant rice and curry

Later on went for some drink in one of those small little dives under the train tracks that can hold about 20 people if that. It was in Yurackcho (Central Tokyo) and full of salarimen but the three of us managed to get a table after not too long waiting. Later on we were joined by 2 other friends and despite being in the company of only one peson that spoke both Japanese and English we all managed to communicate nicely. I got a real feel for how workers let of steam and enojyed it a lot. Made me think too, one of the guys there normally finishes at about 11pm after a 8am start 4 out of 5 days of the week. He also works 6 days a week typically.

Another guy was supposed to finish at 7pm but only managed to get out at 10.30 and even then he had to ask someone else to take care of a few things. This is not some crazy Japanese company either, this is HMV. Although it is the Japanese arm they are still controlled by the UK parent company but it is still typical of all companies in Japan really, they are antfarms..... without a queen.

Getting the last train home was also an experience, nothing like in London where it is typically quiet but instead it was more heaving than usual. The only real difference was that there were less old ladies pushing onto the train and more stinky (combination of smoke and drink) workers on their way home from countless establishments in the same vein as the one I had just been to.

It's getting too hot again, I think it was about 33 yesterday yet it seemed hotter than when it hit 73 before. Odd. I need to go and buy Starfox Command and that new GBA rythum game, it's been advertised all over the place on TV and I only saw it was out yesterday but am all spent out on games for the week.

Also sad was that I finally found a box set of DVD's that I want but can't quite justify it to myself. It's about £75 (down from £110 when I saw it in Jan) and is a Japanese TV drama called Beautiful Life, no English subtitles and I have the series on my hard drive. It would look nice on my DVD shelf though.......

Tomorrow we are off for a trip to Nikko for a few days, it was built as the spiritual escape for the Shoguns of Edo time. Ieyasu is buried there too. Very scenic with waterfalls, forests and shrines all over the place. Should be fun.

Lime, I have you clear cola yoyo now. First one I bought since you asked and it turned out clear. It was a coke drink so if you still want to I will buy a 3 pack and swap out the cola one for your coke clear and then send them along after the auctions (that are due to go up today if possible but maybe in 2 or so days given the little trip I am about to go on.
