Hello!
This is the first time in an absolute AGE I've actually had time to come onto livejournal so I thought I'd better do a quick update while I have time :-)
Okies, last entry was on the 30th June so here's whats been going on since then:
Went to Edinburgh on holiday with college friends in early July, spent far too much and ate far too much. Not much else to say really, it was brilliant and surprisingly nice weather. The train journey up there was mega mega boring though and there was an old woman who kept glaring at one of my friends for licking her pringles before she ate them. And on the way back there was another old woman who spent the entire journey glaring at us. We're students, of course we're gonna be loud! Met a really groovy Scottish guy who asked my friend to spank him- loooong story!
Came back and started doing a summer playscheme where I basically spent from 8 in the morning till 5 at night playing football, cricket, dodgeball and hockey, loking after kids with injuries, getting injured a LOT myself, arguing with the caretaker and having stupid photos taken of myself by the play leader.
And I've spent the last week writing up everything that happened at said playscheme for uni, including stuff like 'what I've learnt' and how my 'key skills have improved' then finding evidence to support all of this. Writing 'I played hockey all morning, fell over in the stock room and had a photo taken while I was on the floor with my feet in the air and then nearly died because a certain someone thought it would be funny to trap me underneath a parachute that got left outside in the rain and was HUMMING,' probably isn't what my tutor had in mind but is actually what happened. Also had lots of stuff for the volunteering network to fill in and the training course I did to accompany the playscheme also wanted lots of sheets filling in.
Then it was my birthday (woo) so I went out and drank this disgusting cocktail called woo-woo that my friend said was nice. Spent yesterday at my godmothers fighting with her dog and spent today trudging round Manchester in the rain laughing at people who didn't have umbrellas.
So that is basically it. I've had no time to do any writing, my bedroom is a complete mess with presents and books and uni stuff and holiday stuff hanging around, I still haven't finished all my uni work for the playscheme, the student loans company have completely ballsed up my loan for next year, I still haven't got my deposit back from the last house I rented and for the new house I have to pay rent monthly instead of yearly and it's like getting stabbed in the eyeball every month.
On a more positive note: Croatia one week on Monday, playscheme has finished and the uni work isn't that hard once you get started, contacted student loan and they said they can sort it out, living with some fantastic people next year, got some brilliant b'day presents...
...And I am, immediately after posting this, going to open a word document and do some writing! Probably Whose Line drabbles...
