You might want to read this rebuttal to the 'Arthur being a prat' idea. I thought she came up with a lot of good reasons why Arthur was acting that way.
http://arthur-angel.livejournal.com/2686.html

I adored the Gauis and Merlin interactions, the one where he's wiping off the poo and where Merlin finds out Gauis has known all along about the Dragon visiting. Oh, be still my angsty heart. I thought they were the best parts of the episode.

Plus the Dragon scene with Merlin left chills. I wonder what the dragon would do once it was freed? He never answered it properly. I'm betting they free him later in the series.

Arthur/Gwen - I would like it better if they were a little less pushy about the romance. Let it flow naturally and it would be less intrusive. Arthur telling Gwen it was his pleasure while he was on the ground wounded just didn't make sense. Very odd.

Anyway, still loved it.

Ahh, yes, I had seen the 'in defense of Arthur' post and I agree with everything she said :). I'm glad that not everyone is cross with him!

I'm so glad you agree! The Merlin and Gaius scenes were definitely the best parts of the episode in my eyes too.

Yes, I image the dragon being freed will be something of a climax. Oh my goodness, I'm slightly scared. I do want him to be free though - what a dilemma!

Yes, I can imagine that the dragon being freed would be a big episode and might be the climax of this season - rather than Arthur finding out about Merlin's magic. Will have to see!

I speculate that Arthur's poor mood started off with not sleeping for a few days with all the damn banging. That can make anyone cranky. And even a generally good natured Prat can turn quite nasty from lack of sleep. Which might also explain Merlin's cautious approach to him. Maybe he's been in a foul mood for days.

Would have been nice with a bit of buildup for this, though. Oh well. Not enough time, I guess. (And OMG that deleted scene... LOL! Although I understand why it was cut.)

I get ya on the Arthur/Gwen. If they had just left it at the clevage moment, I would have believed it easier later on. It does feel kinda forced.

Horcrux! I know! I kept thinking: DUNGBOMBS! Hehehehe.

That's a very good point - there's nothing worse than being woken up by hammering! Poor Arthur *restrains herself from mentioning 'banging' and 'Merlin' in the same sentence.* - I user my grumpy Arthur icon to close this paragraph.

Haha! Yes, that deleted scene wasn't very tea-time friendly. But neither was the poo...oh my days, BBC! XD

DUNGBOMBS! OMG, hahahahahaha!

You're so right, the fondness definitely seemed to be lacking in Saturday's episode. I really hope we see it return tenfold this week!

Oh, I'm so glad that you agree! Yes, I thought that season three would probably be a good time to start dropping more drastic hints *sigh.* Having said that, I don't think anything that happens between Arthur/Gwen could detract from the wonderful relationship between Merlin and Arthur (as long as their lovely friendship dynamic is returned to us soon!)

Yes, I can see why the BBC cut the deleted scene too XD. Wee and poo in the same teatime show might've been a little too much (although I'm sure the younger audience would've loved it!)

I wish she'd just get it on with Lancelot and save everyone a lot of pain and trouble. Or, y'know, just stay with Morgana!

I know, it was a beautifully gross moment! Oh Gaius, never change.

YES! I'm so glad you agree bout Merlin pining for Arthur, it makes sense to me too.

Also, it's lovely to see you posting, I've missed you ♥
