Sorry, I let LJ get away from me for a while there! First I was avoiding Lost spoilers, then FlashForward spoilers, then I was sad about both shows ending and didn't feel like being online. And then I was doing Important Craft Stuff (which I will post in another entry). So, here is an update in the guise of a picspam.

Me, Merlin, geocaching, haunted farms, haunted halls, tree carvings... )

picspam, ruins, historic places, photos of me, geocaching, my dog merlin, foxes, ghosts, mp3s, derbyshire, paranormal, folk

Thank you so much! That photo of Merlin was taken in my room! :D The wood is actually my wardrobe, but I love the idea of panelling! I can see Merlin in a bow-tie ala Eleven!

The carvings are beautiful, aren't they? I think they're quite modern, they're all over the wood. Hold on, let me google. Unless it was something like this I can't find anything :(

Oh, you're right! Definitely Thornfield, you're completely right! My own village always reminds me of a Brontë novel, not a specific one, just one in general! Although there's a group of identical graves in the churchyard that makes me think of the Heathcliff/Cathy/Edgar scenario!

I still have the little square of red cloth to make the neckerchief! He's just growing out of his current collar, when I buy him a new one I will sew it! I'm very excited! :D

Ahh, honestly I don't deserve any congratulations, I was so very mardy (wow, so that's not even a word! My spellcheck flagged it up! Do you say it over there? I just looked it up online and it's apparently a Northern word!) every week on the way home in the car! I will pass your best wishes onto the hairy little gentleman though! Thank you!

Oh my goodness, why are you not a writer on Doctor Who? That would be the most amazing episode in history! I just had to read it aloud to my Mum! Wow! I'm imagining it in my head, just amazing.

Well, I'm on the edge of Yorkshire, so I could fib to you and tell you I live in Brontë Country! But I live on the border of South Yorkshire and I think Haworth is in North Yorkshire. I looked on a map (<-- I have no idea if that link will work!). But we do have plenty of moors around us, especially in the Peak District! We walked ( ... )

Wait! Hold it! Haworth is in West Yorkshire! I should have listened to my Dad. My map reading is appalling!

You're pretty spot on with the definition of mardy. It means grumpy, surly, sulky, childish, easily upset. I just did some research and it looks although it actually originated here in the East Midlands! I had no idea, I just thought it was a general English colloquialism. Haha, another term for a similar state of mind is to say that someone has 'got the monk on.' I love that one! XD

Ahh, that's so sweet of you! If you did get around to writing it I would be very eager to read it! :D

That's so odd about the map! I had a feeling it wouldn't display correctly though. For me it was a map from my house to the Brontë parsonage!

Oh, Hareton. ♥
