Weekend Warrior

Damn, I can't believe that its Monday already.

This weekend was filled with so much touristy crap...but I loved every second of it! I love playing the role of the tacky tourist - indulging in things I otherwise wouldn't. Eric and I went to the IMAX, Wax Museum and UnderSea Gardens. We also ran into a few people we hadn't seen in ages!

The IMAX was okay...I guess...honestly, it was a little disappointing. We saw "Ancient Greece". It was the kind of movie where they try to cover too much info throughout too many time periods in 45 minutes. In the end, it reminded me of why I hated first and second year survey courses, and left me feeling equally as unsatisfied. On a positive note, I ran into Hollye, my old co-worker from the IMAX days, and she was the same old. :) I really miss working with those people. It was probably one of the coolest staffs that I have ever worked on. (And definitely not "cool" in the conventional, stereotypical way.). I was really glad to hear that she is in school, and that pretty well everyone else is gone from when I worked there. (Especially Robyn, cuz he is just the coolest, but also the most unmotivated). I will most certainly have to get together with Hollye and Rachel at some point for coffee and catch-up.

Then, Eric and I went to the Wax Museum. Pretty much the same exhibit as when I was four years old. I enjoyed it. But it was incredibly predictable - long lines, misbehaving kids, and lazy parents who refuse to discipline their kids for acting out. (like the little girl who stood behind me kicking the backs of my shoes while we stood in line, pushed me aside to see the exhibit, and then tried to touch the wax figure while her mother chatted to her friend) *RRRRRAAAARRRRRRR grrrrrrr* FRUSTRATING! On a plus side, there were some great parents - I was so glad to see that "good" parents still exist.

On Sunday before going to see the UnderSea Gardens (which is complete un-noteworthy), we ran into Craiggie G. Eric's roomate. I haven't seen Craiggie since they had lived together - and he is SUCH a sweetheart! (I mean...he calls himself "Craiggie" for Christ's sake!!). Anyways, he is in his third year of med school at Queen's...so we spent the entire conversation trying to persuade him to move back to Victoria. I really hope that he tries to. It would be so sweet having him and Meggles living close again.

Anyhoo...I am sad that it has all come to a close. But it was a good run! Bye bye weekend, Hello week!
