I yanked this from an email. It's an event that I was completely unaware of until this morning. (How'd that happen?) These are all great people and performers. It should be fun.
AND on May 12 there will be a HUGE gala for the MN International
Center at the Landmark Center from 6-11pm.
http://www.micglobe.org/index.html This is a benefit for the MN
International Center. Their mission is to inspire our community to
understand global issues and cultures in an ever changing world.
Every year they choose a country to focus on - 2007's focus is
Ireland. The gala is host to a number of Irish dignitaries and will
have contemporary Irish foods, open bar and plenty of craic! The
Center for Irish Music has been working with other extremely talented
national and internationally-renowned artists for four months now,
putting together an amazing stage show that will feature music and
dance in a new way in Minnesota. The list of performers includes:
Jode Dowling, fiddle - of the Doon Ceili Band
Cassia Gille, dance - of the Corda Mor school of dance
Katie McMahon, harp & song - the original voice of Riverdance
Brian Miller, flute - of the Doon Ceili Band, 5 Mile Chase and Gan Bua
Cormac O'Se, dance - original cast member of Riverdance
Daithi Sproule, guitar & song - of Altan and Fingal
Brian Wade, percussion - of Teuce (from Chicago)
The show is being produced by Natalie O'Shea. Come and have a hooley
with us in St. Paul and celebrate your Irish heritage at a whole new
level! The food and drink will be great, the craic will be mighty,
and the stage show is not to be missed. Tickets are available on the
MN International Center's website:
