After a couple months I've decided to actually post.
I've been super busy with school... I WAS failing Mechanics of Materials and Dynamics. I'm improving, but things are still hard and I've got a lot of catch up still to do. Dynamics isn't that bad if you put the time in (95 on my last test… WOO HOO), but MoM has been a nightmare for me. My professor SUCKS!! He's extremely intelligent and knows his stuff, but his teaching abilities are GREATLY lacking. It’s been pretty much a self-taught course with a crappy textbook. I would like to thank the professor's at University of Missouri - Rolla for creating this MecMovie. It has totally SAVED me! Fluid Mechanics and Numerical and Computer Tools are going just dandy… No problems there. I registered last week for the spring. It's weird not actually registering online. The Civil Department now requires each student to consult with an assigned mentor and get the proper sign-offs. Then you have to see Norha (the civil advisor) and get him to register you for your classes. It's a real pain in the ass, but at least you have a better chance getting the classes you need.
Spring Semester: Hydraulics, Structures I, Thermodynamics, and Environmental Engineering I + Lab
Not the easiest course load, but it’s better than what I'm taking now.
As for the personal life... Tim and I are doing great! I’m truly amazed as to how well we mesh. I like him A LOT and I know the feeling is mutual. Next weekend he meets my parents at Thanksgiving. We're staying in Ocala till Saturday then we're going to Orlando for a basketball tournament SIU (Southern Illinois Univ… Tim’s alma mater) is playing in. Should be fun! :D I'm learning lots about football thanks to Tim. I've never actually had someone there who I could ask technical questions. It’s cool! 2 weekends ago Tim and I went camping at the world's largest dude ranch, Westgate River Ranch in Lake Wales (it was PCL's company picnic). We had a great time… lots of drinking, campfires, s’mores, fishing, and socializing. I'm glad I've found someone who shares my love for the outdoors. We discussed Christmas plans. I will be spending the weekend before Christmas and Christmas Eve with my family. Then I fly out of Tampa at 6:30pm Christmas Eve (the latest flight possible) to Chicago and will spend Christmas Day and the next couple days with his family. I MIGHT actually see my first white Christmas. That would be awesome!
Karen and I are doing well... Corona-The-Killer-Cat has been really nice to me the last couple weeks. She actually lets me pet her and has stopped attacking me every time I walk by her. It’s a miracle! Karen took the CPT and will be starting classes at HCC in the spring. I'm proud of her. I know she's wanted to do this for a while.
Hmmm.... what else... ASCE is keeping me busy. Work is going well... the whole 6 hours a week I've been averaging. I haven't had the time to work... I've needed to spend it on homework (which I should be doing now, but I actually felt like making a post). My debt is growing… that sucks.
Well... lots of short sentences and fragments, but that’s my life in the last couple months.
