torontosaurus rex

the TD bank
smoked all the dollas
Torontosaurus Rex rose above us

city hall burned
the sky turned and blurred
and the TTC went on strike forever

the tanks had spiked skin
and twisted, terrible grins
the dinos took away our courage

and replaced it with a dream
that burst at the seams
when the trains came in
and we rumbled sttt.......umbled
into a platinum cage of freedom.

the big suits stood in a stupor
their pocket bleepers bleeping
EMERGENCY! Dispensing sing songs
intended to calm the masses
who were screaming:

"SWEET JESUS!
SHIT SON...REVOLUTION!"

The CN Tower's corporate elephantitis
became enlarged and charged
the queen street hipsters who were tricked
into streaking through the bleachers

naked, vintage, used, hopedrink, wonderchild
sank into the gushing shiverbank
as the giant tower fell limp and curled around us

drank, wordjuice watered down with grape
the gate was locked by a prehistoric snake
chain ingrained in our brains
slithering sly lies on the cloudless sky
they snickered at our fate

the

escape from the wordstreak singalong
throngs of electronhyperspeach packed with
bongloads of fun,
pre-packaged with a gay rune tee
that
seeweed tweedreams teeming
with expertise in seizing the
the
d
a
y
could blast Torontosaurus Rex
into outer space.
