Its 2008, it’s about time, I do have to say. It feels like it should be at least 2010 by now. But thinking of 2010 aren’t we supposed to have flying cars and hover buildings by now? Well people about 200 years ago would have thought we would have made some incredibly intense inventions by now. I think by the time we get that advanced that, we won’t even realize it. Everything is in such a slow transition that it just slips in right under our nose without even realizing this is an epic event.
I started this New Year off with Jessica and Lucas in Berkeley at a random gypsy show. We all didn’t feel like sitting alone at home on New Years so this was worth going to. When we got inside and paid for out tickets we realized that we were the youngest people there accept for the few kids that were there with there parents. It felt like we were intruding on someone’s Bar mitzvah, incredibly not invited. The bands began to play, it sounded like some straight up Jewish or Greek Music. I was just waiting for someone to start chanting Lahium, or Mazel tov, even though it wasn’t a wedding. I’m not Jewish so I’m not that worried about my accuracy.
When it was almost 12 and the ball was ready to drop and welcome us into the New Year Jessica said, we all had to jump at the strike of midnight so that we wouldn’t be on the earth when the New Year started. She had heard this from her friend Matt who told her this before we left the house to go meet up with Lucas. We didn’t really trust the people there and there watches so we all broke out our phones and jumped at the strike of midnight in accordance to all of our phones just to make sure. So we jumped 3 times that night.
