So things seem to be "q" tonight. I'm not allowed to use the word or the shit hits the fan... but so far so good.
I have done about three posts since starting to write here again... Before that, it was 2008 the last time I used LJ. I went to MySpace when I was doing the travel assignment in Seattle... by the time I got home, I was on FB and I have been a dedicated FB user every since.
I've learned to put all my thoughts into short little status updates... but lately I've felt the need to really get everything out there. I have a lot to process and I forgot how good it felt to process everything by typing. Not only can I get out things that are floating around that I can't seem to vocalize... but I can take out some aggression on my keyboard as the words flow almost as fast as I can think them.
Since last really updating, we have been through alot. We lost our house while I was unemployed... I became employed and I couldn't be happier about my job... and financially we are doing alot better being out from under some rediculous mortgage payments. Bob's job is going wonderful. He's had it since I went to Seattle and tho he doesn't LOVE his job like I LOVE mine, he tolerates it and it is a very good job for him. It supplies us with a company van that we get to use for personal... and it comes with the gas to run said van. We are putting in a hitch on Saturday so we can start taking advantage of a wonderful pop up tent that Bob's mother had purchased. We are planning a weekend camping trip in April and we will also be taking it to Colorado this summer. For the first time in four years, we are planning a trip to Colorado that just might not fall through due to financial or work obligations that keep us from getting our time in. I'm looking forward to that trip.
Also this year, Amy is getting married. She has asked me to be her Matron of Honor and I am just that... very honored. The wedding is six months away and tho I'm sure that time will flow fast... there are a lot of things to fit in there. We are going to be very busy and I plan on being the busiest AFTER I return from Colorado. I have a "to do" list and the showers and bachelorette parties are all slated for August.
Sky is going to be the guest book attendant and then transition to the cake attendant. All three cousins (aka Neice and Nephews of the Bride) will be ring barer and flower girl. Manda is the Maid of Honor and she lives in PA. Her and I have matching dresses while the Bridesmaids all have matching dresses that are just a bit different than our dresses. Sky's dress will match the bridesmaid dresses but be in a different color. All our shoes will be silver. Bob is going to be an usher and he's going to look so good in a bow tie! ;)
Sky and I have to order our dresses. They are "ordered" but won't ship til we pay for them. That's coming up with my extra check on the 30th of this month. I get two months a year where I get an extra check that isn't slated for bills... and Bob gets two months a year with the same thing... since we get paid every two weeks instead of twice a month. April is one of Bob's months... March is one of mine. This suits us very well for saving money for a vacation as well as purchasing tuxes and dresses. All four of us will end up with wedding attire before this thing is said and done. I think all togeter we'll be in for about $500 just on clothes. Not to mention the expenses for the shower and bachelorette party. We are going to do that RIGHT! So much fun will be had.
Wedding stuff going full steam ahead in August is a good thing since we may be moving sometime in either May, June or July. I'm hoping for July so that Sky can finish the 8th grade year in one school and not have to switch at the end. However, if we DO have to switch her, I'd rather switch her sooner than later.
I've been on a roller coaster with my emotions about this move... but I'm happy to report that after a great convo with a great man... I have a new perspective and I'm ready to move forward. I have many ideas about how this move should go... and we'll see if we can make it work right.
Financially, moving in July will be better because we have more time to prepare. I just don't want to get into the Colorado trip money. We are saving a ton of money by taking the pop up... but we still need a good deal of money for the trip, itself. Also, moving in July will mean we stay with our current electric bill set up til then. Our current utilities being better than our new utilities will be.
Ok... PACU patient coming rather than previously thought ED patient. Maybe I'll edit and do more later.
For now... cross posted to FB because it can be. *smile*
