More business to attend to.

So on Monday when I get off work, I have a staff meeting until whenever Michael decides to quit talking or whenever Bob gets here to pick me up... whichever comes first.

We are leaving for Florida to get the rest of my mother's stuff and get her settled in here. We aren't sure how long this will last but we aren't in any hurry to get her out. She has been great for morale and I think we do the same for her. The little ones seem to constantly make her smile.

So to Florida on Monday. Pack up the van and her car on Tuesday. Head to the west coast for a visit on Wednesday. I hope we get a chance to see everyone on the East coast of Florida as well as the middle clan. We need to be back sometime on Thursday so that I can sleep Friday and head back for another weekend of work.

It has been nothing but a month of go go go. This past week when I was supposed to just be resting and chillin was a shopping trip (or two) a day... whether it be groceries or clothes or bedding. My mother is really getting into her new digs and I'm happy for her. She's walking around stores without the use of electronic carts and loving it. It is very cool.

Tomorrow (later today after a bit of sleep) Kari has a soccer game I want us all to go to. I'll only get so much sleep (like four hours)... but then I'll have Bob take me to work and pick me up. That usually saves a lot of time and we are very careful about not allowing me to drive when I haven't slept much. That drive is a bit long to be that tired.

Sunday I'll sleep plenty and if they pack the van correctly, I'll be able to get some sleep on the way to Florida. I'm more worried about my mother's freezer and being able to get it in the van without any extra help of any kind. Not sure I like that idea. She swears it is light if we take all of the stuff out of it... but I'm still skeptical.

I'm also debating on whether or not to take Skylar with us. We can let her stay behind with Bec and Jay and not miss any school... but she'll miss out on visiting with everyone for what might be the last time in a few years. I can't imagine going to Florida to visit without my mother being there. It feels like a last bit of visiting for awhile and I don't want Sky to miss that. On the flip side, it is three days missed without talking to her school ahead of time for homework. She'll have a lot to make up. I need to check with her teacher and send an email I'd hope to get an answer to before Monday. Wonder if that is possible on this weekend. They don't have school on Monday which is why she'd only miss three days of school. I'm still not sure what will happen on that one. I honestly think she should go with us.

Bob has not been feeling well the past few days. It looks like some stomache bug that got into him that didn't get into any of us. Not sure if it was something he ate or what... but luckily none of us got anything from it. Poor guy was out for a few days in bed... poohing like no other. I don't think he ever threw up but he was feverish for a bit and then had no energy. He had Mono when we lived in Iowa and I feared it was a flare up. I think he's feeling much better now, tho... just needs some nutrition in him that isn't greasy or red saucy.

Some odd stuff going on with many people. It seems like people are comming together. Children are returning home, parents going to live with their children, siblings comming together to form a village in which to raise their children... I feel like we are all preparing for a new lifestyle that will not include a small nuclear family but return to larger family groups that share responsabilities. I feel like I've been preparing for this my entire life. My parents have always allowed people to come stay with us and I've been the same way. With Bob's mom comming to stay with Becky and moving from PA... and my mother comming from Florida to live with us... our households are growing in number and in love.

OK... gotta go give a migrain patient some pain meds and knock her out for awhile... maybe I'll add to this more later.
