Saw the De Vinci Code the other week and can't see what the fuss is about as its just a story.
But there were a few things that I found interesting because it is a different tack on the whole story of Jesus.
After playing on TR, it was great to see a real live inquisitor (well you know what i mean). I sat there thinking that it was quite possible that I was watching BnB with modern day vampires and inquisitors, etc hehe
Anyway one thing that struck me was the painting. I thought it was interesting how in one scene they rearranged where the woman was sitting etc but I want to find out who named that painting as the last supper cos its obviously not. People see what they want to see and because of the style of dress etc, ive always thought that the 12 people there were the disciples but when you look closely the painting actually shows something different. No Im not going to bible bash but Da Vinci's interpretation of the last supper was wrong.
1. The last supper happened in the upper room, if you look out the archways behind them, they are on ground level.
2. There is more than one woman present, the last supper consisted of Jesus and the disciples who werent women.
3. At the end of the table at the right hand side, it looks like the man is objecting to something or complaining about something to the man at the end of the table....because of this I think it is in fact a painting of either Jesus with the tax collectors and their women, with the objection of why he should taint himself by feasting with them.....or it could be the first meeting of mary mag and he is objecting at Jesus welcoming her to the table.....or it could be one of the many feasts that he had with his friends mary (not mary mag), martha and Lazarus.
I found the movie very thought provoking but as like with many films it is just a story and it reminded me of National Treasure with the Knights Templar, etc. Which is another great story. Love those guessing clues and running around the place searching for the next one.
