weeeeee bouncing elephant! haha my icon still makes me giggle like a school girl when i see it. i'll get over it.

my tummy is upset this morning :( my oatmeal isn't going down too well which is weird because normally i inhale my breakfast. there have been some big changes in the company so this morning we are all being taken to the pan pacific hotel for a conferency kind of thing. i believe that there are some people from our PG resource centre that are going to be there as well. it'll almost be like being in the room with jenn! hehe kidding kidding. obviously being in a room with jenn is a million times better! :)

so this weekend wasn't bad. i honestly, for the life of me, cannot remember what i did friday night. OH wait. volleyball! haha oops. so the "train and play" league that minna and i joined up with started on friday night. it was a lot of fun. the fun games that take place at the end were a little frustrating because of everyone's different skill levels and the fact that i probably only hit the ball about 2 times during them. but that's whatyou get when in a beginner's class. the nice thing about the sessions is that if they think you are better than beginner, they'll move you up to the intermediate level. so it's not like we'll be stuck anywhere. afterwards we agreed to going out for a drink and appies with a pile of the people that also play. we sat at a table with two nice girls and managed to chit chat for a little while. it was a good social opportunity that i'm glad we took. i'm still trying to get sand out from under my toenails today! gross!!!

saturday minna and i went out to brentwood mall to pick a new top each to wear to the housewarming that night. minna also treated me to getting my ears re-pierced (birthday present) so now i have some bling in my ears! i am girly again! haha. later on we met up and went to brazier and chelsea's housewarming. i didn't really know anyone there, but it was still fun talking to some new people. we all then went to the academic, which i totally thought was a pub, but it was actually more of a bar/club kind of thing. it was okay there. lots of pretty people around and i felt a little under-dressed (i was expecting a pub!) but managed to make the most of it. by the end of the night i was just tired and really wanted to go home, so i bailed off on my own in a cab.

sunday was another busy day. well i had a bit of a sleep in then got up and showered and made my way out to metrotown. why was i going out to metrotown you ask? i was meeting a guy named nick. about just over a month ago i posted an ad on craigslist and he responded to it. we e-mailed back and forth a little bit and then eventually exchanged phone numbers. and a whole pile of texting ensued. i know i shouldn't have text as long as i did without meeting him, but every time we tried to make a meet up happen something would happen and we'd have to postpone. but yesterday we finally did. we have had access to each other's facebook for a bit too so i did a bit of stalking. i had a few concerns that he'd be a little bit gangster like with the whole big baggy jeans and all. but when he showed up it was a huuuuge relief. he was wearing normal nice fitting jeans, black t-shirt (okay maybe it was a bit gangster) with a long sleeved black shirt underneath and a black hat. first thing i noticed was that he has piercing blue eyes. like really, really nice blue eyes. we wandered around metrotown chatting and getting to know one another in person. we went into a few stores but didn't really focus on much in them because neither of us were planning to spend money. he didn't have to be anywhere until later so he offered to drive me back into vancouver. and...yeah...his car is a little bit gangster...which made me laugh. on our way in we decided to grab some dinner so i took him to splitz grill and introduced him to the most delicious chicken wrap in the world. we were there for probably about an hour and a bit just sitting and chatting some more. body language seemed good coming from his end for the most part. in the music store we were looking at a cheesy cd and he seemed comfortable standing quite close, which i've never had in first dates. afterwards we decided to just call it for the day and he dropped me off at home. he said he'd text me later on so i thought that was a good sign. and like a good boy he did. about two hours later he sent a text saying he had a good time. we bantered back and forth a little and he made reference to "next time" and joked around like normal. he figured it was a good first meet. i'm trying not to get too excited about anything because a "good first meet" could mean a good first meet as friends. or a good first meet as potentially more. so we'll see.

one thing that threw me off when we were having dinner though was at one stage he made a complete rob-like-face and gesture. there are a few small resemblances between him and rob, like their height and hair colour and fair skinned and some similar facial structure. but personality-wise they are a lot different. and physically nick's a lot fitter. but i couldn't help but think "oh my god i'm on a date with rob" when he made the face and gesture. it was eery! thankfully he only did it once and i was able to forget about it.

when i got home last night i watched the most depressing movie ever. i wanted to see what all the hype was about with "precious" so i downloaded it. it was a pretty heavy movie and pretty sad for the poor girl. i thought Mo-nique (or however you spell her name) did an amazing job in her role and truly deserved the oscar that she won for it. but overall i didn't find it all that exciting. all i could think to myself was (about the lead girl) "that girl needs to lose some weight baaaaaaaad" haha. i was actually put off because she was SO huge. ick.

and now it's another monday. another day of work. another week to get through before the weekend. yippeeeee. so i have a crapload of e-mails to reply to so i should get on to it! happy monday everyone!! thanks for reading my boring post!
