We are back in france now, arrived in antibes on friday night. we first got to Nice expecting to stay with guillains uncle but when we called them from nice they said they were moving to italy on monday and we couldnt stay with them...oops. wish we knew that earlier. it was friday night in the middle of june and most places were booked out. so we called guillains cousin who said it was cool to crash with him. we went to antibes to look around and found a hotel with a room available so now we are staying there. at €500 per week. eek! we are here until thursday so i guess we will end up with guillains cousin for a while too. i had to downsize my bag, i really had way too much stuff; so we sent 2 boxes of stuff back to guillains parents. its so easy to accumulate stuff.
the euro cup is on now so we have been watching a fair bit of football. mostly just the france pool which consists of italy, holland, romainia and france. holland is kicking arse and france probably wont even make it through to the next round as they are playing like shit but i say its because they beat the All blacks in rugby that they are losing. Noone beats the all blacks and gets away with it. it is karma. the deciding games are tonight so we will be at the pub cheering them on. i have never supported france in my life but actually find i kinda like them these days, how things change!
on the job front, we are looking seperately now. we want to buy an apartment here (so we dont have to pay €500 for a hotel each time we come here, and also so we dont have to sent boxes back to normandy all the time) so both of us need permanent full time jobs with contracts otherwise the banks wont have a bar of it. so we are looking at the big picture, and will work seperately for a while and start saving for that this year. we went to all the job agencies yesterday i havent had any calls back yet, which is strange as usually my phone is ringing off the hook as soon as i say im available. we will see.
we are really late in the season so most boats are sorted with crew now. i know something will come up though, it always does.
