I hate this fucking holiday...
Earlier today, I got screamed at by a bunch of shirtless men wearing red, white, and blue body paint, standing in the back of an enormous pickup that was laying on its horn, waving American flags and signs that said, "Love it or Leave it!!!"
What the fuck, Boulder? For the last two days, stupid college kids have been lighting fireworks in the park and streets near my house AT THREE IN THE MORNING.
Umm, yes. Patriotism, woo hoo. Let's cheer on a fucked up government that's responsible for ongoing bloodshed around the world, that actually supports torturing prisoners, that has lied to its citizens, that ignores slavery, that decided being an illegal immigrant is a felony, that encourages ignorance and apathy, that is currently fighting to disempower women's sexual health practices, that is openly racist, sexist, and homophobic, that is cutting funding for education. Oh yes. Go America. These colors don't run, whatever the fuck that is supposed to mean.

I'll take the latter any fucking day of the week. Ireland is looking better than ever these days.
