i'm in maine!
Yup, I made it. All in all, it was a pretty uneventful seven and a half hours. Nevertheless, I'm proud of myself. This is my first solo roadtrip that's been longer than two hours. I'm in Bar Harbor, hanging with my buddy Leah, who I haven't seen since December.
It's been so long since I've been to the ocean, I'd forgotten the way it makes the air feel... It's refreshing. Like splashing cold mint tea on my face. It's been a long time since I've been near any big body of water. It kind of sucks living in a dry, mountainous terrain, sometimes I feel like I'm about to shrivel up and die.
When was the last time I saw the ocean? I guess when I was in Scotland, the Isle of Skye. Oh, let's not get me started on that place...
Mom's car ain't sounding so good. It's sounding loud and angry actually. Let's hope it makes it back to Burlington, and doesn't fall apart when it gets there.
Tomorrow I'm going to go with Leah to her Biology class and dissect (or watch others dissect) something. Should be interesting. The day after that I go to Falmouth, see Johno and Jeremiah and Kimya Dawson... and Ian. That should be interesting too.
