Interesting Commentary

My dad and his wife have decided that they shouldn't co-habitate, so they're setting up separate residences. (They're staying married, and will socialize, go on vacations, and spend time with each other) She moved out on the 15th and they're working on getting their house ready to sell so he can get a place out in East Texas. And they both seem a bit happier about not being in each other's space.
However, the dogs are not well with this, especially my dad's labrador retriever. He's been moping around and groaning, (as labradors tend to do) and spends time looking for her in the house.
My dad took the dogs over to her place so they could see her last weekend. The black lab expressed his opinion in a very unequivocal way -- he lifted his leg on her leg. She was of course shocked and grossed out, but she also knows why he did it. Still, though I've had a lot of dogs in my life I've not experienced one doing this to express negative emotion. And I suspect he doesn't want her getting away that easily from him, since he just claimed her as his territory.
