I'm dropping about two pounds a week right now thanks to a minor change in diet and an increase in exercise. I'm tight on money right now, so I'm eating less, and that's contributing to this reduction. Since I have a set goal to lose about 40 pounds this year, I'm making progress -- I'm already halfway there.
This has, of course, caused some blood sugar problems, as all weight loss tends to do. My doctor has reduced my nighttime insulin by 10 units, and told me to take a half done if my blood sugar reading comes in at between 106 and 150, with no insulin taken if I get a reading of 105 or lower. Since she made that change I haven't taken a full dose twice in one day or two times in a row, and sugars over 150 are rare.
This is a drive to accomplish some medical things I've been putting off for a while, and because I don't want to keep injecting insulin into my body, as that's a somewhat destructive process. I also want my weight to get down to the point where my blood pressure normalizes if at all possible, so I'm taking a lot less medication.
To this end I'm trying to find folks interested in a pagan/metaphysical accountability group, based on the Magically Delicious group we had here on LJ a while back. I think a mailing list is a better angle for this. (Some would say Facebook, but I keep my participation there to a minimum, as it's both not completely blind accessible and also turns into an obsessive time waste focused on enobling trivial events in each others' lives while creating a false impression of friends) So if anyone who reads my journal is interested in such a group, let me know. (Note: Pasting weigh-ins is a requirement of most accountability groups focused on weight loss)
Other than that I'm just working on getting the house arranged, a process that seems to take forever, and getting some of the remaining house paperwork dealt with. Issue 5 of the magazine is due out soon, so those of you interested in such keep an eye on the website.
