BBC Sherlock "The Reichenbach Fall". Review...sort of.

So, I thought I was going to watch the Sherlock finale on monday, but I actually managed to watch it on sunday evening. It has been a very moving experience. I expected the episode to be great, but damn, it was really amazing!

The beginning was really a punch in the gut...as soon as I saw John like that, T_T I really felt like crying.
I found the episode really brilliant, the pacing was perfect, there were some awesomely funny moments (I mean, Moriarty and his iPhone apps, and his antics in the Tower of London, that made me crack up, or when Sherlock prepares the tea set as soon as he learns that Moriarty has been let out...and did you see the cups? Honestly, genius.)
But obviously the story had to start getting darker and darker... I loved the reference to Grimm's fairy tales. I wanted to throttle Donovan and Anderson with my own hands when they started doubting Sherlock. But I suppose they felt like they were doing the right thing....but still, I wanted them dead. For all his hatefulness, Moriarty's plan was great. A very cool example of dangerous mindf*ckery. That guy is a complete monster. A madman, but damn, he's got style. I may have permanent shipping goggles on, but I think that the way they depicted the relationship between Sherlock and John suggested something more than friendship... Ok, I've said it. Which makes the ending even more angsty... Then, one hour into the episode the website on which I was watching it started having problems. The video skipped, the audio was doubled, then it stopped working, exactly when Sherlock goes to Molly to ask for her help. Then 5 minutes later the video started working again, but the audio was still very sucky, so I didn't get much. By that time Sherlock and Moriarty were on the rooftop. Then seeing Sherlock lying to John in order to protect him was f*cking heartbreaking. It reminded me so much of Moulin Rouge...you know, when Satine has to pretend she never loved Christian. T_T I was crying at that point. The phone call between Sherlock and John has to be one of the most moving scenes on TV I've ever seen. I'm not an expert of acting, but I think Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman have been terribly awesome. These lines killed me. T_T And then...when Sherlock jumped I thought: well, there's no way they can make him come out of that alive. But then, he went to speak with Molly...so, he just had to have arranged something. Right?
Then the scene at the graveyard, poor John. I had lost all hope, when they finally showed Sherlock. But still, damn you Sherlock, how the f*ck can you stand there and watch? T_T Ah, the angst. I think I haven't cried like that for a work of fiction since "The Prince's Tale" in DH.
And now, while we all wait for season 3, we can only cry our eyes out with angsty vids, customise avatars with the saddest quotes available, and speculate wildly on how Sherlock faked his death.

In other news, I'm working now (when I'm not busy fangirling with some angst-ridden song in the background). More specifically, I'm teaching. O_o (Call me Fujoshi Sensei...LOL)
