I hope my fish live through the night. I just cleaned the entire aquarium and replaced all the water. One of the fish, Moshii, was beginning to die. At least it seemed that way... Well, I thought that maybe, it was because I hadn't cleaned the aquarium since I got the fish last week. Thus I figured that okay, it can't hurt. Except I think I overreacted and replaced it all. Now, I have to wait at least 24h for the water to settle. As of right now, the fish are residing in a plastic cup surrounded by a heating pad with a mirror propped on the outside so I can make sure they don't die. Keeping the water temperature warm enough isn't a problem. Since they're so small, there should be enough room. For the time being. The problem is giving them an adequate supply of oxygen. The air tube is being used in the aquarium to filter the water. I can't blow air into the cup because I'm a human and I happen to breathe out carbon dioxide, not oxygen. Finally, I can't drop any random plant in there because I don't know what's on the plant. Chemicals, pesticides, whatever. I can't think of anything else. No one else can think of anything either. I'm so worried that I've actually asked a couple of people if there is a prayer for such situations. All I can do now is sit and hope they make it through the 24h. So far, it seems as though they are doing relatively well. I'm still very worried. I really don't want them to die.
