I’m venting. And it’s public.
I hate Lori. I’ve never liked her. My first actually conversation with her there, ended with her telling me and Philip [or just me] to fuck off. She’s a bitch, and not a good one. You know the people who are always uptight, snappy, and domineering? Yeah, that’s her. She wants everything her way. Grow the fuck UP? Poor you, what your silver spoon is slipping and you can’t lift a finger to push it back in? How about shoving it up you ass? Asshole. Gosh, every time I’m around her, I’m annoyed. She acts like she owns bunny, goat and steph’s apartment. Why? How... I’m seriously pissed, not because she told me the shut up and blamed me when Andy turned off bunny’s stereo and started playing country music saying “see, this is country music, listen to the words...[blah]” I was playing a doll for fuck sake, not I a need to a excuse. How about YOU shut the fuck up huh?
“Anyone who is healthy enough to pick up their check from the unemployment office, is healthy enough to pick up a paycheck from their job.”
That’s what pissed me off. Andy said it. It pissed... me... off.
I didn’t exactly articulate my argument against it well, seeing as I’m not a speaker, I’m a writer. Logically or illogically that does not stand for crap.
It’s just a generalisation implanted in the minds of Americans. Why? Basically it says:
A. Person is healthy enough to pick up their unemployment check.
B. Person is healthy to travel
C. Thus person is healthy enough to obtain and job and get a paycheck.
Logically:
Non Sequiter “ it does not follow”
Hasty generalisation
False premise
In regular :
You are ignoring all other factors at play. You support your argument through anecdotes, which aren’t applicable to the public [generalisations].
You are ignorant of the facts, therefore incompetent in argument. If you suppress all unfavorable factors, you committing a straw-man, altering the conditions making it easier to argue against.
Basically, your statement is bullshit, sir. For every story you can offer, I can match it with a contradicting one. Anecdotes are irrelevant. Statistically, YOU ARE OWNED! Why? Statistically the gap between the richest 1% and the working class. (Rethinking Globalisation - Bigelow). Then there’s the US job market, and the losses: that affects employment. Then there’s racism, yes idiot, racism, despite your obvious ignorance of it, exists. It affects all minorities: Chicanos, Asians, Arabs, even whites! Intolerance amongst religion and homophobia. People are losing jobs becuase of who they date. The Fuck?
Also, how can they find out how? Inner city centers aren’t... well informed always. Then there’s the little fact of EDUCATION.
Your argument is pathetic. “Well, my dad did it.” Anecdotes are shit.
