Clumsy princesses with epic horse-riding skill, forced marriages, tossed up romances, and badly, horribly hidden innuendo. This show is for either incredibly young children or incredibly immature adults, and I'm not really sure which one. :)

Violence and romance and sex, er, magic fights, oh my! )
Really? I disagree. From what I've seen Merlin is flawed in many ways, and in fact I think those flaws are growing, not lessening. Most obviously he's a liar, and not only when he needs to be. As the series has gone on Merlin has become increasingly comfortable with and increasingly good at lying to the people he loves, admittedly often out of self-preservation, but not always. He's made some terrible errors of judgement which have led to many innocent deaths - releasing the dragon, releasing Freya etc. (not telling Morgana about his magic was another big mistake, I think). Even more of a character flaw, he's becoming increasingly casual about killing. Grunhilda, for example, was scheming and immoral but not evil - he didn't blink about killing her. He's already killed umpteen dozen extras and he was willing to kill Morgana, who at the time was a friend, without even really trying to find another way to break the spell. So yeah - I think he's really very far from perfect! I agree that it would be nice to see the show call him on his flaws the way it does Arthur's more often, though.

I just hope for more 'dark' episodes this season. Episodes like The Changeling are just a bit too silly for my taste.
