Eunhyuk sat on the couch and was watching TV as Donghae plopped down beside him, holding a magazine.
"What's your zodiac sign?"
"Why?" Eunhyuk asked as he focused his attention on the TV.
"There's this compatibility test I'm doing right now. One of the questions is on zodiac." Donghae explained. Eunhyuk furrowed his eyebrows. "And give me your Chinese zodiac too please."
"We shouldn't be taking this test. You're a fish and I'm a monkey, neither which are compatible with each other." Eunhyuk pointed out.
"We are!" Donghae defended. "Just answer them. For me." He pleaded.
"They're based on my birthday. You could just look it up."
"It'll be easier if you just told me-"
Eunhyuk then narrowed his eyes as he turned his head and faced Donghae. "You forgot my birthday again didn't you?"
Donghae sheepishly looked around and forced a cough. "Of course I remember." Eunhyuk shook his head as focused his attention back to the television. "Just tell me!"
"No. You forgot my birthday again. Deal with it. We even have the same birth year." He muttered the last part as he crossed his arms. Donghae continued to shake him to get him to answer. "Not telling."
"...Fine." He went back to his magazine. He circled some answers and flipped the page to read the answer.
He promptly closed the magazine after and smiled. "You're right. These things are useless. What do these tests know about compatibility anyway."
Eunhyuk shook his head, knowing Donghae said that because he didn't approve of its answer.
Shortly after, his cell phone rang and Donghae answered it. Eunhyuk noted his grin that stayed even after he ended the call.
"Meeting up with friends?" Eunhyuk asked. Donghae barely gave him an answer as he hurried to his room.
Eunhyuk flipped through the channels when Donghae returned, fully dressed to go out, but threw Eunhyuk a puzzled look. "Why aren't you ready?" Eunhyuk didn't answer as he continued to flipped through the channels. "You have to hurry. We're going to meet up with them soon."
Eunhyuk shook his head. "I'd rather stay here."
Donghae walked over and pulled Eunhyuk's hand. "Come with me." Eunhyuk forced his hand away as he stood up and walked past him towards the kitchen. "Why won't you come?"
"You don't need a third party ruining the fun." He replied.
Donghae pursed his lips. "But you won't be ruining the fun." Eunhyuk chuckled.
"I'm too shy around them, its... awkward." Eunhyuk reasoned. He looked back and noticed Donghae's disappointed expression. "It's fine. Just go."
"But you're just going to sit here. It would be more fun if you just come with me." He reasoned as he looked down.
Eunhyuk walked up to him and patted him on the shoulders. "Don't worry about it. Go have fun and I'll wait for you here." He gave him a convincing smile and forced him on his way.
He did exactly as Donghae said he would, simply sitting on his couch for the rest of the day. He checked his watch occasionally as he waited for him to come home. He was bored but it was a lot less of a hassle then going out with Donghae and his friends. Every time he attempted to had ended in way too many awkward moments than he liked or cared for.
He turned the other way on the couch and tried to nap. He barely heard the door open or the slow footsteps. He did however feel something on his arm.
He looked up and saw two miniature stuffed toys interlocking hands and fins. It was a monkey and fish.
"This is me saying sorry for forgetting your birthday, which I finally remembered by the way. It's February 12th!" Eunhyuk played with the miniature toys. "I saw these at a store. You can hook up any animal toys you want. Luckily I found the last monkey. I think that it's a sign that we are compatible."
Eunhyuk smirked as he held up the toys. "You'd force it anyway if it wasn't."
Donghae tapped him on the shoulder. Eunhyuk looked at him with a quizzical expression. "Were you bored without me?"
Eunhyuk remained silent, he didn't want to give him the satisfaction but Donghae had managed to guess based on his expression.
"Aha! See, you should have come." He declared. "It was fun."
"Its fine. Besides, I'd rather go out with you." He said "Alone preferably." He added as a afterthought.
Donghae beamed as he settled beside him, nuzzling against him endearingly.
"And Donghae," Eunhyuk said quietly.
Donghae locked eyes with him and nodded, prompting him to continue.
Eunhyuk gave a sardonic smile. "That's not my birthday."
