The tide rose, the pull strengthening as the moonlight straying through the swarming currents.
What might have been a beautiful sight, turned into his agitation and mild concern. He stared onward as the shadow ran forwards towards the water, being consumed by the high currents.
He bolted from the shelter, running towards the beach. "You are an idiot!" He called out through combined hands. Kyuhyun narrowed his eyes, especially as the figure still standing within the frigid water looked back, beaming a large grin.
Kyuhyun dried his hair with the large towel, "I thought I told you to never do that again."
"I thought I could get away with it. How did you know I wasn't in my room?"
"Because you weren't there when I checked." Kyuhyun said, pulling off the towel. They slowly walked back to his room.
"You looked for me?" Changmin asked excitedly, Kyuhyun shoved him into the room.
"You were almost going to miss your appointment." Kyuhyun stated, closing the door behind him. Changmin plopped down on the bed, Kyuhyun turned his back and opened the cabinet.
"I would never miss this." Changmin assured slyly paired with a keen glint. Kyuhyun stepped towards the bed, adjusting himself until he straddled Changmin's waist without putting too much pressure. The man beneath observed the younger, lips curving into a smile.
Kyuhyun gently tapped his fingernail to dislodge the air bubbles inside the syringe. "If you keep moving, this is going to take longer than it needs to be."
He wasn't sure who ever decided taking a shot needing excitement, but Changmin required himself to be the exception perhaps. Kyuhyun sighed, straddling the man he was meant to be taken care of wasn't part of the job description. Yet the diabetic would cause a fuss otherwise, and he long figured it was easier to simply give in.
Once done, Kyuhyun discarded the supplies inside the distant bin, then attempting to get off when Changmin's hands grabbed his waist and kept him in place. The man wasn't amused.
"Why are you always this difficult?" Kyuhyun asked, this time not a rhetorical question. Changmin smirked, his hands reaching below his shirt and tracing circles on his skin. "You make taking care of you a harder task than it should be."
"Are you my babysitter now?"
"I was assigned to be one." Kyuhyun replied with ease, Changmin narrowed his eyes. He was clearly old enough to take care of himself. "If you would just check your blood glucose levels more often and stopped winding up in the hospital, then maybe your bosses would stop."
Changmin thinned his lips. "My bosses are only being overprotective."
"If that's so, I can finish my job early then-"
Changmin pulled Kyuhyun's hand and placed it on his forehead. "I'm unwell." He then smirked, pulling Kyuhyun closer to him who braced himself as he laid against Changmin's chest, faces only inches apart. "Take care of me forever?"
"Take a shower first." Kyuhyun stated.
"Join me." Changmin countered, their eyes remained lock. Kyuhyun thought it over, lips pursed. Changmin kept him close, Kyuhyun's wrists firmly in his grip.
"Maybe next time." Kyuhyun managed to pull himself out of the predicament. Changmin exhaled sharply, walking towards the bathroom beside the bed.
"That's unfair. I always give in to you."
"Stop making me worry about you then."
"I can't." Changmin declared as he entered, hand on the door. "I enjoy seeing you fuss over me."
Kyuhyun sighed as the door closed. It was because of the man's blatant disregard for his health, going on his spontaneous outgoings and doing as he wanted with a care-free mindset that landed him this job in the first place. His employers had failed to inform him the man's rash behavior, but Kyuhyun learned to understand it with time.
It was only after as Kyuhyun went through the supplies in the cabinet, checking to make sure all the objects were in place did he felt two arms snake around his waist. He was unfazed by it now.
"Do you mind if I take your glucose level now?" Kyuhyun asked, Changmin leaned his head on his shoulder, holding up his hand.
With a small prick and flinch, his hand slightly tightening on Kyuhyun's waist. Once the number appeared, Changmin's smile returned.
"What was our deal? For every good reading I get, I earn a kiss."
There was simply no stopping the man, the one who chose to forget the most important things. But any deal between them that involved physical contact, he remembered word for word.
"Except you went out with my permission, therefore I consider that invalid. What if you had gotten sick?" He moved from his grasp and walked around him.
He was tossed back onto the bed. Changmin towering over him.
"I could probably sue you for harassing your caretaker."
Changmin never cared for his threats, and waited impatiently until finally Kyuhyun turned his head. Changmin shook his head, never understanding why. Just as Kyuhyun had asked since that first night, he turned off the lights.
"I'll give you what you want," Kyuhyun phrased. "After I do."
Even in the darkness, he could see that trademark smirk. "Fine."
There was a small secret he had to keep from his employers.
One that once the lights turned off, the locked still locked, their lips connected. He started this job on a professional manner, but even he couldn't resist the pull the other gave. Changmin was truly a force to be reckon with.
He never stood a chance.
