The moonlight rays threw a soft light against the young man's skin. Tegoshi stood in the darkness of the loft, staring outside at the vibrant city that remained below his vision. It was a rare sight for him to experience, and he memorized as much as he could from the top room of the skyscraper.

He pressed his hands against the cool glass, his eyes wide with childlike curiosity. He shifted his eyes when a larger hand covered his right, another hand snaking around his torso.

A pair of sapphire eyes reflected in the glass.

"You left, you know that is not allowed." Ryo's voice said quietly, ghosting over his ear, having just followed the other from the comfort of his bedroom. Tegoshi, by instinct, stepped away from him, his hand withdrew from his grasp.

Ryo's expression was calm as he studied the startled younger man. "You need to learn not to be afraid of me." He said, a devilish smirk formed on his lips as he stepped forward. Tegoshi stepped away once more.

"If you take one step back again, I'll have to restrain you."

Tegoshi was pressed against the glass, his lips captured in one swift motion. The kiss was slow, sensual, more than Tegoshi thought he'd ever gain from a customer.

"You're acting as if this is permanent." Tegoshi murmured as he pulled away, his expression slightly dejected at the prospect. He didn't want to return those streets, looking above at the places he'd never reach, and could only dream of owning.

Most weren't aware of their worth. Tegoshi was well aware that his own was barely suitable, a price standard that demeaned him as a human being.

Yet it was Ryo who brought him into his home without disgust, into his arms without hesitation. The only one who had made him feel as if he was worth so much more than that.

But he'd have to return to those streets soon, and Ryo would just be another customer, a temporary bliss he enjoyed.

Ryo lifted his chin, forcing his solemn eyes to meet his as their foreheads pressed together. Ryo pulled Tegoshi's waist even closer, eyes closed in pure bliss as he asked,

"What if it became permanent?"

"Don't tease me." Tegoshi warned. Ryo shook his head as his fingers curled into his hair. Even now as he held him physically close in his embrace, Ryo could feel the other pull away, isolating himself from feeling anything. A man too used to rejection.

"You're my favorite amongst them all, and that is a feat itself, considering I never have a favorite. Beyond the many I've welcomed, once the deed was done, I wanted them out of my sight." He explained. Too often was he restless with the others, anticipating their leave. Tegoshi was different. The only one he hoped would stay.

He wanted to wake up, and see the other beside him.

Tegoshi looked back at the cold glass, looking at the city beneath them.

"This isn't a question I want to ask... but I need an answer from you. An honest one." Ryo said, his tone lowered, calm.

Tegoshi waited.

"If I asked you to stay by me, to live with me, would you say yes?"

In this spot between him and the glass, his hands against his bared chest, his lips coating his own. A contrast of a warm front against his frigid back, his resolve to remain stolid to his charm wavered. He was afraid to hope, what if Ryo was simply playing with his emotions, what if like others, he enjoyed this torturous game.

Ryo waited too long for an answer, and instead of asking once more, he made his own decision.

"You can't return."

Tegoshi lifted his gaze. "Why not?"

Ryo kissed his neck, holding him close as Tegoshi closed his eyes. Ryo's eyes glowed a vibrant sapphire, the irises widened slightly as he declared,

"I'm yours," He said. "As much as I own your lips," His finger caressed his lips. "Your body and soul."

"What of my heart?" Tegoshi asked daringly.

Ryo smiled as he kissed his forehead.

"Once you stop being afraid, then maybe I'll have a chance to earn that as well."

Tegoshi had all the time he wanted to memorize the city, more time in the world than most would ever gain.

Atop the skyscraper laid the monster who held his victim in his arms, his most valued possession and most treasured lover. A status and title Tegoshi knew would be permanent as he laid against his chest. A man no longer fighting rejection, but embracing acceptance, a sanctuary that allowed him freedom. It was more than he could ever have dreamed of, ever have hoped.

Each morning, greeted by the pair of sapphire eyes. Each night, greeted by a pair of soft, red lips.
