1. HIM -Sigillum Diaboli
As a well-respected White Magician it was his duty for Tetsu to fight off the evil Black Mages and their demons, all in order to protect human race from the Dark Force. Never once in his life he had doubted the teaching, the good and the evil could never coexist together; they must battle to the end till one of the two clans fell.
But when he was finally face to face with the High Mage of the Dark Force, their greatest swore enemy in the final battle, everything Tetsu had believed in, collapsed. The White Magician screamed in agony and defeat at the mere sight of the High Mage; whose mocking yet pained laughers pierced through the cold air.
Within an instant he knew he had failed, he couldn’t’t destroy his enemy. But who could ever know Fate would play such a cruel joke on him?
Tetsu knew he was doomed when the face of the Mage was revealed, for it was no other than the very face of a youngish brunette beauty whom he loved more than anything in this world.
2. Simon Webbe-My Soul Pleads For You
If he were to think back all over again, Tetsu had no idea how the presence of a single person would change his life like this. But after Hyde stepped into his world, all Tetsu could ever know was that nothing was going to be the same again.
All of those changes started with the most simple things, how the way Hyde’s eyes gleaming when their eyes met, the way he sang with his deep marvelous voice, the certain way the brunette smiled at him so childishly, could touch something deep within his soul.
He had never felt this way before, if it were wrong, if what he was feeling right now was wrong, then he would never want to make it right again.
3. HIM -Cage
It was strange to think he would come to fulfil his lifelong obsession in such way, no one beside him would know the treasure he had been keeping in the abandoned warehouse.
Now there he was, in the middle of the empty hall, standing before a glass cage wrapped in plastic fabric. Within the cage, held the most precious, pure creature Tetsu had ever beheld.
The blackly-winged creature was asleep upon his arrive, having no desire to disturb his peaceful rest Tetsu stood in front of the glass wall that separated them, admiring the forbidden beautiful sight before him. But not long afterward, as if sensing the other man’s presence. The black haired youth’s eyes drifted open, he slowly came to, the winged creature woke up, then with a smile spreading on his face, he floated toward the boundary of the cage, toward his keeper.
Smiling lovingly at the shorter form, Tetsu reached his hand out, placing it against the chilly surface glass wall, and the winged figure did the same. They reminded facing one another like this, frozen in place when looking deep into others’ eyes like there was nothing existed between them. The smile on the winged brunette was dreamy but there also held a hind of sadness and loneliness, for they both knew it was the closest they could get to one another.
Tetsu would love to pretend he would be satiated with such kind of limited contact with his precious one but in fact it was never enough.
4. Placebo -Without You I’m Nothing
Never in his short life had he ever felt so misery. With nowhere to go and hard rain pouring down upon his shivering form, it was just so cold. He hugged himself tighter, wriggling to stay out of the rain with no success. He was more alone than he had ever known now. He knew that he was abandoned, that no one would ever acknowledge him again. Various people passed him by without pausing just a second to look at his direction……making him wonder whether he did truly become invisible without knowing it. So what is him now? Where should he go?
He was so deep in his miserable thoughts that he failed to notice a figure approaching until the other person was standing right before him. He looked up numbly and found a stranger with shot of black hair peering down at him. He gasped, not used to being look at as if the other one actually acknowledged his existence, the feeling was almost frightful.
“Would you come with me?” the stranger asked gently, his eyes never left him.
He nodded, then he was held to his feet by the brunette.
5. Placebo : Bruise Pristine
When the whirlwind of energy finally subsided and the drifting dust and smoke was puffed away from his vision; he couldn’t believe the sight he was seeing, the mage lying covered in pool of crimson like a broken doll. Blood was still streaming from the fatal wound across the fallen boy’s chest when the finally blow struck him down.
The sensation of flesh slitting open under the force of his attack still sealed in his memory, nor did he able to forget the smell of blood, Hyde’s blood when it rained upon him……above all, and the look of pity and sadness in the boy’s eyes before he fell backward to the ground……
So he won in the end, the demon had brought Hyde, his enemy down……hadn’t it always been the outcome he had been wishing for for countless years. He should be rejoiced at his victory! But why…right now all he could feel was emptiness, the same meaninglessness he had always been suffering through the years?
Hadn’t he hated Hyde for all these year? But if so, why there was such an unbearable aching in his heart right now? Wasn’t he supposedly a heartless demon, cold-blooded slayer of mortals?
It was his belief that his pain would never come to an end as long as Hyde lived……but right now with Hyde laid in his own blood, dying before his very eyes. Tetsu couldn’t rejoice in his victory, couldn’t even stand a second of it.
Within an instant Hyde’s motionless body was packed up by the blond haired demon. Standing among the rubbles of his destruction, Tetsu held the broken, seemingly lifeless from dearly close to himself like what he embraced was the only thing in the world that held any meaning to the ageless demon.
”I’ll save you……”
The vow was uttered through gritting teeth. For his entanglement with the dying mage had not yet come to an end.
6. Placebo -Taste In Men
If he were to save Hyde, there was only one possible solution. The demon soundlessly kneeled down, with the lifelessly form of Hyde still held closely to himself. Tetsu reached a hand to ran lovingly across Hyde’s blood-stained locks of hair, his stare never leaving the other’s waxy pale face and those closed eyes……
“What are you doing?! You killed him!” Maddened with rage and sorrow of not able to save his friend from the demon’s fatal attack, Ken screamed as he tried to rush to where the demon was kneeling, the young Guardian’s eyes reddened with rage and murderous attempt for revenge.” You-you murderer!”
But Ken was knocked backward by an invisible barrier that kept him from approaching the demon. The Guardian snapped angrily before quickly waved a destructive spell in order to break the demon’s magical barriers.
Ignoring Ken’s cries and his attempt to break his barriers, without even rising his head to glance upon Ken’s direction. Tetsu started to gathered up all of his strength to form a powerful, forbidden spell; soon they were surrounded by a circle of blinding spiral of lights as the spell worked around them.
Startled by what was happening before his very eyes, Ken stopped, struggling to gaze at the center of the lights despite of the brightness.
Tetsu felt his strength floating rapidly out of his body in an alarming speed as the spell took shape; flow of energy began to pour steadily into Hyde’s form. In the final moment before his consciousness left him, Tetsu close his eyes in peace.
Finally the revengeful demon came to acknowledge and accept his own feeling, and his fate.
Regardless in hatred or love, he couldn’t be separated from Hyde.
And by the act of abandoning his physical form and power to merge his own life-force with Hyde and reviving him, he would never be separated from the brunette mage ever again.
7. Pierrot -Rebirth Day
A massive ball of energy had flashed brightly at the center of the ruins before just as suddenly as it appeared, the bright light extinguished. Darkness once again fell upon the ruins.
“What---What had happened?” Ken murmured in puzzlement, uncertain of what he had just witnessed. After the blinding white flash disappeared, he blinked for couple of time, when he finally adjusted to the gloominess of his surrounding, he saw Hyde laying face up on the wasteland, and must to his great shock, the blonde haired demon who he had been trailing after for such a long time, had simply disappeared from the scene without a trace, leaving not even a single bit of sense of his demonic presence.
But there was no time to think about the demon, instead Ken rushed toward his fallen friend, once he got close enough he noticed the brunette whom he thought to be dead, was actually still breathing. then with shaking hands Ken examined Hyde’s supposedly injured body and found, to his greater surprise, despite the blood soaking the boy’s clothes he was perfectly unharmed, all the injures cased by the battle had just……disappeared.
“How could it be?”Ken was in utter shock upon his discovery, he had seen the demon attacked his friend with his own eyes…no one could stay alive after such level of injury…how could it be? And where had the demon had gone to?
With all these confusion whirling in his mind, Ken discovered yet another unexpected, unthinkable thing when he reached his psychic power to check for Hyde’s own life-force.
His eyes widened as he touched upon the depth of Hyde’s being, feeling the mortal boy’s life-force mixing with another unfamiliar energy that couldn’t possibly belong to mortals, the two kind of presences were merged together, keeping the boy alive. The young Guardian realized this strange presence of strength was possibly the reason of Hyde’s survival; and he gasped as he recognized the strange energy and its only possible origin.
It was definitely a life-force from a demon…from the icy presence Ken recognized such demonic energy belonged no other than to Tetsu.
8. Trouble Everyday Soundtrack(by Tindersticks) -Closing Titles
“I don’t believe you.”
When Ken’s long story came to an end; Yukihiro, the snow demon snapped after a long pause.
Ken said nothing when the pale demon sending dead gaze upon his direction as he continued his accusation. "You lied; the ice demon wouldn't do such thing as saving a mortal's life, not to mention a mortal he hates so deeply."
It was unthinkable for a demon to sacrifice his life to save another being. After all demon race was well-known for their selfishness. It was part of their instinct for survival, in a harsh loveless world such as their region; it was pointless to point the benefit of the others before one's own. Yukihiro simply couldn’t accept what Ken had told him. And he walked away, leaving Ken to walk back to Hyde’s ward; the young Guardian once again wondered what he should tell Hyde when he came to…it would be difficult.
9. Ken Hirai-Why
“Who are you?” Staring deep into his own reflection in the mirror, Hyde whispered. “Why I can still feel you when no one else was here?”
He thought he had captured shadow or a flash when he looked deep into the mirror surface, a lingering shade hovering near him. Strangely enough he wasn’t frightened, instead he was filled with the urge to find out the origin of this strange presence, he wanted an explanation.
Hyde drew a breath, ready to speak but he was too late, the suspicious shade he had seen in the mirror, were gone. Leaving him stood there, staring back at nothing but his own reflection, bewildered.
“Why do I feel so sad?” it was a silly question, but it was one that painfully without an answer.
Out of the blue his heart began to speed up, the sensation was nearly painful, Hyde placed a hand on his chest, but for an instant he swore he could sense a presence engulfing him, confronting him, it felt so safe.
I’ll never leave you……
The unuttered voice rippling in the silent space, a tear seeped soundlessly down his cheeks, the silence in the room about to heavy down to crush him.
10. HIM -Buried Me Deep Inside Your Heart
“Ken kun? I want to ask you something…”
“Yes…?” Ken replied, waiting patiently for his friend to continue.
Aft first Hyde hesitated, but eventually spoke again. “Have you ever felt as if…something… or someone was missing in your life?”
Alarmed to hear the sad tone in Hyde’s voice, the older boy quickly asked in concern.” No, I have never felt like this, Hyde kun. But why do you ask? Is something wrong?”
“No…Nothing bad had happened…” Hyde didn’t tell Ken that it was what bothered him the most. Though nothing had happened, he still felt strangely empty…there was a void in his heart that yearning for things that he couldn’t understand….sadness seeping from a place deep within, a voice told him he shouldn’t be thinking about this but no, he just couldn’t stop wondering, aching……
Either of them spoke afterward, Ken quietly watched his friend. Secretly feeling sorry for the brunette yet again, Hyde was revived but not with a price, the price was his memory; the whole chaos of demon outburst and the existence of the ice demon, even their bond from the boy’s past life; had all been wiped out from his mind……maybe it was for the best. However, though Hyde no longer held any memory of Tetsu, it still didn’t help him to escape from the sorrow of lose…
The End.
